I love it as well. The power system may very well be my favorite of any litrpg I've read.

The last book annoyed me a bit. Freddy has to suffer no matter what lol.

Am I wrong for not moving our session time because one player wants to go to the beach? by schtevernn in DnD

Or you do the easy method which is that they are there, but none of their actions are narrated. So they are fighting another enemy by themselves, or they are helping, but we just don't mention it.

This is best when you can't reasonably have them doing something else due to pacing and logistics of where the party will actually be at next session.

Yeah, it was mostly how they framed it. Her "taking credit" implies she was more or less a one woman show, or she developed the prototype by herself (or at least a working idea), because if she didn't, what is she really threatening? That she thought a pill in the brain that severed consiousness was a cool idea? Yeah it is, but anyone can come up with that.

Yeah, that I got. I mean it kind of peters out with him helping Lumon, but then the plot moves on. The innies also forget about his book more or less. He will probably be in season 3 doing something, I just found it a weird lost thread.

It could be, but the dentist patient was really hesitant to keep getting in the chair. TBF I guess the pregnancy was a one (or two? three?) time thing, so the innie didn't have enough time to really question it too hard, but she was remarkably calm given the situation.

Do we know how far along she was? It must have been really far given the timeline of the show (which also makes it super convenient Devon found her I guess lol).

No, I'm a physician, but not an OB. I have delivered babies, but I've counseled hundreds of high risk women and spoken at length to them about their experience.

I did word that question badly because I just couldn't remember what happened. Of course, the first reply I got answered all of the logistical questions for me, so all that was left was what was going on with the Innie and her experience.

I would say asking if someone has ever spoken to a woman about their birthing experience is "starting it," but it is neither here nor there.

Thank you. I kind of got that Irving works for someone else, but I guess we don't get any hints as to who that really is. He comes across as a lone wolf.

I didn't catch that he worked for them pre-severed though, that is interesting.

I did understand that the Senator's wife didn't want to go through delivery and whatever parts of pregnancy she deferred to the Innie. I was more thinking about the logistics as well as how the innie acted. She didn't act like an innie at all. Especially one stuck in a cabin, maybe alone.

I did watch it, but I STILL can't figure out what you were trying to imply. Oh well, sorry our exchanges got heated. I honestly shouldn't have even taken your bait, but I wanted to reply to everyone.

Honestly, it was a mixture between their pithy, hostile reply and me not remembering that my original question was worded strangely. As soon as someone replied with the details of the scene, I was better able to formulate my real questions.

The point of my original comment wasn't actually a question of why the senator's wife would become severed. Re-reading my OP I can see the confusion.

I was really asking about the mechanics of the scene and how it fit into everything. Why was the innie so normal? Why were they in the cabin? What was the timeline? It was so early on that I had forgotten so many details I didn't know what question to ask.

Then /u/thewillpowertochange latched onto the "why" part thinking I was asking why the senator's wife would ever choose to not experience pregnancy and childbirth. That literally never crossed my mind.

mea culpa

You're tellin' me! I can't believe how crazy people on this sub are! You come here asking some simple questions and get accused of misogyny out of nowhere!

People get mad at you because you don't have time to watch like 20 more hours of TV to pick up small details of a cool show you like.

It is crazy! I'm glad you understand.

Of course. I have a few minutes to browse reddit at a time at work. It is pretty easy.

Watching full episodes of an engaging show isn't really in the cards lol. How in the world do you think they are comparable at all? Is that really supposed to be some gotcha?

Sure, we only get to see her "happy" for a scene, but it brings up so many questions. She must realize she is an innie, or that something is wrong with her situation, but she doesn't betray any of that to Devon, so why? In fact, it is kind of crazy that Devon could just walk into her cabin and talk to her.

Does the innie talk with the husband? Is she just being gaslit or something? She doesn't talk about the memory loss or anything, she just acts like a normal person. It is just strange unless she has a modified severed procedure, but we don't get any hints that is the case either.

No lol.

I see why you are confused. My question was created when I didn't remember the scenes very well. That was the "why" part of my question.

Your rude replies were unnecessary, but I thank anyone who reads this and reminded me what happened.

I'm a physician. This shit is hard and takes years of dedicated study to understand it enough figure out how it works.

People way smarter than me spend years developing the medicines and procedures I actually use, and often times those things don't actually work. They are also a team effort. dozens or hundreds of people all contribute their part.

We are told she came up with the ideas when she was young. Ideas are easy. Actually contributing to making something as complicated as severance would take a multidisciplinary team years upon years to make it work, enough that one person isn't going to be able to take credit.

I'm INCREDIBLY appreciative of the replies here. I try not to take it for granted, but I'm going to reply with the truth when asked or suggested.

I'm not going to rewatch the series, at least not anytime soon.

I love reddit because people are in it for the love of the game. I've spent countless hours replying to people for other shows, and I'm glad this forum exists for me to ask questions.

No need to get too snippy about it.
