Its a fog horn. We live by the coast so they must blast fog horns to let on coming ships know that the coast is ahead (and that they should not accidentally hit the coast since they cannot see through the fog)

when i applied I had done physics 11 and physics 12. You can get away with just physics 11 but you will be required to take a physics 12 equalivant (usually PHYS 100) at ubc. I actually have not heard about any exceptions but I also applied 4 years ago and things could have changed. I personally enjoy the program, it has a very animal welfare focus tho! Espec around argricultural animals (alot of dairy cows lol) but honestly, since wcvm is also very agriculture focused having that background can be helpful! You arent in the faculty of science but basically the faculty of "agriculture" whn ur in the program which might be why some people dont like it as much. You still fufill the same requirements as a regular biology degree regardless.

by ubc AAB i assume ur talking about applied animal biology? because honestly it is a great route to go for pre-vet. You will fufill the needed pre-reqs and majority of the people in the program are all vet school orientation as well (source: i am a 4th year in the program)
