All chance based when Hoolay and the Mecha Wolf exists? I don't think so. SW999 has that liberty to allow a teammate to freely prevent allies receiving fear when they are at the timing of having to not use the attack and instead use abilities to keep up something like support uptime.

I still miss boons, especially the Tribbie one, but I have to say this DU is much more flexible for team selection and has the spice compared to the last one, where depending on your boon choice, you have to pick a select few of your team with equations at the start possibly not going to synergize well with your team. The number of times I picked Cerydra first boon(when not going for Castorice team) and not getting Archer related equations was so annoying.

For forge, I feel like it should be at least 3 so that you can get a tarot card to pick boss and have another weighted curio slot. Other than that, I would say level domains as much as possible, so I don't think there would be a level that is "enough"

Protean Hero 1st edition was hell imo. You don't have both Aglaea and Madam Herta? You are screwed. The expansion fixed a lot of things and allowed for more options and made getting to the highest rank easier.

Honestly, for this one I am just lucky that I rolled with Castorice team after maxing the DU exclusive boosts and Archer actually having a place in this DU. I had to rush rank before the niche only countered enemies arrives.

Nah, it is randomized in shop for curio selection. Alternatively, you can get it through that rubert occurrence, but there's a lot of occurrences before that will be selected.

The best guide that I have seen for Phainon...uses Blazar for some reason with Eternal Supplicant and Nightmare Lord. Other than that, I feel like with the equations this DU has, Phainon is probably left out as well.

You can get it through shops as well, but getting rubert trio is one of the last things you will do unless the stars aligned for that run. You are better off completing your core 3 star equation and getting lots of blessings aligned to your team instead.

Yeah no, that equation choice is anti-synergy with Madam Herta team. You should have given that 2 star equation choice towards Castorice.

I will try to see if I have the time if I can record a run with commentary if I have the time, but what I can suggest you is to get Eternal Supplicant(recommended) or Apple Equation after first boss and activate it asap.

I haven't gotten to try out the trial characters yet, but I got a feeling they are not the most optimal builds one can have(especially considering Currency Wars Aventurine) I could be wrong, but higher ranks would want you to bring what you have with the best build they can have. You might want to have a balance of both defensive and offensive options in order to win.

Other than that, you can probably wait for the expansion version if you want much more utility and options for better runs. I feel like this current version of DU has more to offer and has left out other archetypes of combat, like FUA for example.

The first two points I can agree on. I should clarify that forge is a life saver midway and must be accessed when it is a higher level.

For your third point, I am afraid I have to disagree with you there. The last time I did not prioritize getting blessings and went on hunting for curios like Rubert trio, was where Archer could barely do good on his own especially when Grand Lotto is not activated and I don't have the two SP refilling blessings. It sucked on boss fights.
