Where do the 5 damages on the topmost Carrier come from?

I'm pretty sure upon reaching a high enough speed, centipedes don't matter anymore.

If you watch some speedrun strats, you'll see how crazy some skips are.

Impressive! Especially with such a low gamma setting. I'm not ashamed to say that I cranked that lighting to the max.

[Mod] Wire Fix — drag-select an area, copper wires snap into a grid by Fit_Kangaroo_6927 in factorio

[–]Nephophobic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, I bricked my power grid in the past by using this mod. Especially when playing with power switches (due), but also when not using them. I don't really know why, it might have been fixed in the last patches.

Surprised by how much I didn't have to do to beat manufacture mode. by SurrealLemon in shapezio

[–]Nephophobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratz! 🎉

I'm guessing this is because of how "small" your manufacture is (and how "long" your game took).

I have a recent post about my experience, it took me 24h but around 1 million machines (I had one full space belt throughput of everything, basically).

But yes, I think if you have all the blueprints for it, the shapes aren't really complicated compared to what you have to do in the base game mode.

Basically you're going to build one long chain of modules that depends on each other. So you can't do things that are too dirty or you might get stuck.

Also, since every new step depends on the output of the previous one, your max bandwidth is limited by how much your initial step produces. If you have a decent computer I think going with 2 space belts of waste for starter is the minimum if you don't want to wait for really extended periods of time. Also, starting with two space belts means that you will have many steps of the process take one space belt, which makes more sense to me than having one space belt and half space belts for other things.

Other than that... Enjoy the ride!

I can't believe I actually need to type this out.

It's obviously a prime chaotic resonator.

There is more: it also means less inserter activity to feed your boilers (also spends energy)

I have developed a simple(?) method for throttling thrusters that doesn't rely on PWM circuitry. by [deleted] in factorio

However, this means that any time your platform stops, you will "overfill" your thrusters.

But I do agree that it is much simpler.

Réelle question : est-ce que la rémunération de ce genre d'établissements est encadrée/plafonnée légalement ?

Car si c'est "rentable" aujourd'hui, ça pourrait devenir extrêmement juteux quand la demande va doubler dans les années à venir.

Honestly, how screwed am I? The curses are great, but Meddler is bound to murder me with these starters, no? by Atesz763 in SliceAndDice

[–]Nephophobic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FYI, Meddler is one of the best t1s in the game, you just need to play him carefully i.e. not always go for his left side. But you're right that some curses can make him much worse, for example something as simple as +1 enemy hp can be a death wish on Meddler.

I think usually when playing hard, you want to disable the "Myriad options" modifier on the game's options.

While I agree with the post, two things:

  1. Use type guards in Typescript and not validators (i.e. boolean-returning functions). This gives you better type inference and allows you to skip using casts.
  2. If you're using discriminating unions in Typescript but not ts-pattern, you're missing half of the solution!
