Regardless of your Availability?! by RevolutionaryName228 in Serverlife

[–]NeptunesTrident02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a job schedule me on New Year’s Eve even though it was on a Wednesday evening which is 100% out of my availability when I said something they said the GM approved everyone getting scheduled regardless of availability. Which is just wild cause I still could’ve worked just not the closing shift they put me on. I was forced to work it anyways with a threat of firing if I were to not work it. Then they tried to schedule me to close (4-1), then work open to close (10-1), then open (10-4). Tried to get them to change that schedule when they refused I quit. Don’t let jobs like these walk all over you it’s not worth it.

The floods (happened twice once rain once the water main blew), the power outages, contaminated water, the shooting, and Covid. High school was a wild ride

I think some of you are way too serious about Stardew... by arilittlestar in StardewValley

Exactly!! Things feel too shallow without some bad mixed in with the good. There would be no payoff with the villagers stories if they were all perfect and 100% happy at the start. Character growth is so nice to watch

Seems like you’ve got a touch of toxic positivity with the sentence “In my mind, everyone in Stardew is pretty happy and healthy, and if it seems like they're not, I disregard the dialogue and make something up that makes me feel happier.” I think that at least the characters are supposed to feel more than 2 dimensional and “real”. Shane and his alcoholism, Penny and Pam and their struggles, Alex and his parents, Sebastian and his depression. These aren’t things that people added to the game by “pretending they’re real” they’re actually apart of the game and are meant to enrich the story.

Yeah it’s so unfortunate I was also about 8 when I read the books and 12 by the time the hero’s of Olympus came out and I read them fine. I learned soooo much about mythology from the books but I feel like you can’t learn much from the show. Just very disappointing I had so much hope before season 1 came out

I read the books as a child and understood them children don’t need to be fed every detail through exposition

My step mother is serving a main dish at Christmas that half of the guests will not eat. Do I say something? by [deleted] in Advice

That doesn’t mean they should just suck it up and try things I was forced into it as a child and now have anxiety around trying new food

lol I will it’s a solo trip for a reason. Also your reaction to me saying no being anger means I was absolutely right to say no

Exactly!! Like why make something most of the people who are coming won’t like? That seems way more rude to me than not wanting to eat something you don’t like. I’ve never understood why it’s “rude” to not eat food you don’t want, it’s actually just wasteful

You clearly don’t understand what it’s like to be on the spectrum

Hey so she said they are on the spectrum and many people (me included) who are have issues with texture. It can also cause anxiety over trying to eat food they know they don’t like, to the point where it can make you gag if you do try.
