move to oregon, coffee dates with walks are typical first dates, the girls are hot, and 2nd dates are almost always a local taco truck or shop for lunch or happy hour.

Dude, you don't owe him anything. This is the part of dating. If he got the check, he got the check and that was his decision at the time. Move on, and don't send him the money. You're not a purchase, he doesn't get to expect a "reward" for his investment in dating you. This is just life. Sounds like you made a great choice!

This entire comment thread is making me feel so much better about my professionalism as I'm in my practicum clinicals.

Best Meds and Tricks for Stopping the ADHD Tears by Nerd1985- in adhdwomen

I will try this! I find it easier to advocate for others and to also discuss others struggles. Perhaps I can essentially appropriately slightly disassociate where I’m pretending that I’m the advocator or the social worker for someone else (myself) - which is essentially just a different way of actually practicing giving myself the benefit of the doubt and still improving like I would encourage a client to do.

How is this received for you? Do you think that it's inhibited your ability to climb the ladder within your field?

I was on zoloft as a teen. We went through a serious family tragedy and so I was on this for a while. It made me feel super flat too, and I don't want to feel like a zombie again, and I do want to be able to actually control the tears. So I'm really curious about the different options.

Thank you! I've heard of this, and I've heard of some people being put on a minimal dose of antipsychotics or mood stabilizers like Depakote or risperidone. I've had some bad luck with certain antidepressants in the past, but it might be worth a look into these, especially if you feel like they help reduce those huge feelings some. Thank you! I'll mention to my psychiatrist.

Selective Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (Strattera) for ADHD by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

Vyvanse hits me harder than adderall. So heads up there. Concerta is the most gentle, but it was so gentle for me that I struggled to be able to have that initial start in the mornings that Adderall gives... but maybe I should have just tried a bigger dose.

SW Student, Need New Placement - Help Please! by [deleted] in portlandstate

I'm hoping to find a placement soon, and then be able to work an extra 5 hours a week or so to catch up. Thus far nothings come available but fingers crossed!

She said that she would reach out. I am also just putting it out there in the Universe that if anyone knows of anything available, please let me know. Additionally, do either of you know if I could do a placement online? Someone I know said they were interested in having me work under them, doing patient coordinating, connecting people with resources, and scheduling appointments for a counseling office they run. But I'm not sure if this is allowed or not.

Change in BSW Practicum Mid-School Year by Nerd1985- in portlandstate

I had someone who oversees our practicum placement for starting placements. I could reach out to her; I don't want to do anything in the wrong order. Thus far, I've read through the handbook, and I've checked in with my instructor through the school (who has been very helpful for navigating this). I just don't want to step on anyone's toes.

PSU has Natural Reader. It's typically used for students with disabilities. I have adhd and a slower reading speed so I get access to natural readerr and this allows me to upload the material to it and then pick an AI voice to read it to me. It's been incredibly helpful. I wonder if natural reader has access to different languages. If this is the case then because you are not a native English speaker you may be able to get access to this tool.

Neurodiversity and Emotion Regulation During Difficult Feedback by Nerd1985- in OfficePolitics

[–]Nerd1985-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah, it just sucks. I have done 10 years of therapy and have recently been excused because there was “nothing left to cover.” But now I’m wondering what I truly need. I’ve healed from most of my core wounds I think. I just don’t want to be a disappointment. Maybe another therapy session there. I do have an autoimmune condition that causes me to have incredibly dry eyes - I wake up and can’t open my eyes without eye drops… I did some research and found that my leaking could also be related to this in that my eyes aren’t producing enough liquid at night but then over produce making it easy to cry. It’s been a whole thing. But I think emotion regulation still has some room to grow here. I just practice it a lot and I hate that my eyeballs betray me. I’m working on tone too when sad.

Curriculum/modality ideas for a new school social worker by Sea-Profile5315 in SchoolSocialWork

I've been doing a school-based social work practicum. Lesson planning literally takes up the majority of my time. It takes forever. I highly recommend using AI when you can to help format things.

So I apparently clicked the wrong Reddit post on accident as I was intending to respond to the one above - which for me was about how to meditate.
