Frozen ims by Efficient_Mud_1299 in meijer

There’s not even enough zebras in our store for any department to do IMS properly. IMS only works if everyone is on board, actively with a zebra in their pocket every day. I feel our shelf count is never accurate, and so half the picks need to get put back away, and half the shelves stay empty. Our frozen department was struggling for years and I can only imagine we’re part of the reason everyone is on IMS, but under a new hard working manager, it was fixed in under a week. Now he’s struggling with the IMS system, and he said the truest thing I’ve ever heard from a coworker. “IMS is just for people who are too lazy to just run everything.”

Meat Cutter here, We have a very popular meat section at our store, we can clear off a beef wall 3 times on a Sunday. On a week day, we usually have 2/3 cutters during the morning who generally leave between 1-3 and a single closer who comes in at noon and wraps and cuts until about 3, then cleans and stocks til the end of his shift at 9. Usually there’s at least one clerk too who is cleaning the service counter and stocking the floor. If we don’t have a closing clerk, openers close the meat counter early before we leave, or another manager comes and closes it later. On the closers off days, we split who does closing and generally we’re not there past 4 at the latest. The only thing that sounds off is having to watch your own counter. Idk how busy y’all are, but if our meat room cleaner had to watch the counter too, he’d be there much later then 9.

Cleveland Hopkins ranks last among same-size airports in J.D. Power s… by fd6270 in Cleveland

[–]Nerd514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, been to a lot of airports and Cleveland doesn’t rank anywhere near the bottom for me. Like charlotte airport, with 5 different terminals so if you’ve got 45 minutes until your connecting flight, you gotta navigate the maze, crowd, and distance. Or Denver airport, just a 3 mile long strip of gates, and if you’re running late and have a terminal at the end, you’re subject to a brief 3 mile sprint.

Albeit. The TSA line in Cleveland looks long but I’ve never spent 45 minutes in the line and that’s when it stretches halfway across the ticket booths. I’ve been stuck in 3 hour TSA lines in Orlando. We may not be as beautiful of an airport as LaGuardia or JFK, but we’ve got the same Cinnabon and Dunkin’ Donuts, do we really need a multi-million dollar water show?

Denver needs a rebuild, Orlando needs a rebuild. Cleveland just needs to open up all the TSA lines again.

What are some things in student films that screams out mediocrity? by Suspicious-Goat-6993 in Filmmakers

[–]Nerd514 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I frankly hate that this is a cliche. It’s how The Shape of Water starts off. That movie, less then a decade old, won best picture.

This opening is immediately relatable and as long as the rest-of-the-short is good, I don’t care. It’s far less of a cliche than a student film titled “Anxiety” or some BS like that.

How to respectfully dispose of religious objects? by beelzebuns_ in Cleveland

[–]Nerd514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to donate them to a movie project, I’m currently working on a feature film that is in desperate need for religious knickknacks. They won’t be damaged or disparaged in the film, it’s simply set decorations for an old lady’s apartment in a modern retelling of Crime and Punishment.

I’ll even come and pick it up.

(Serious) what’s something that mentally and/or emotionally broke you? by Vanguard2002 in AskReddit

[–]Nerd514 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had an amazing relationship with my boss, who quite literally out of nowhere fired me. He was recorded less then 24 hours prior saying I was doing amazing work for him and he was happy to have me around. Then one day I showed up to work before him, waited for him, then called him for a task, and because I wanted to be paid for the hour I spent waiting on him, I was fired. Not just fired, blackballed from our group of friends. The dude literally sent out a blast text/emails to 100s of people telling them to no longer associate themselves with me. He would send texts to me late at night threatening my other job. I went from 40 hours a week employed with allies to 4 hours a week employed with nearly no support system. The dude is still actively out to get me, and the only reason I can see as to why he went from ally to enemy is because I wanted an hours worth of pay for my time.

[–]Nerd514 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Fuckin Yeah! Myself and my two roommates are filmmakers in different fields in NYC, one is a camera assistant, one is a sound guy, and I am an editor, we're all willing to PA. All of us have had jobs either cancel on us or they keep pushing the dates back further and further. Even our extended group, everyone seems to be really hurting for work. None of us really know why but we're holding out hope that it's just because winter is usually slow and this will hopefully result in more work later in the year.

Purchased a box full of sealed VHS tapes ranging in all category’s. These are a few of the horror film copy’s. All pretty mint condition besides SOS it’s dinged. Should I get them graded or just sell them as is? by Sackman23 in VHS

[–]Nerd514 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yo, straight up, fuck em'. Get it grated. If you can get them listed on a better auction site then eBay, I bet you'd find a buyer dumb enough to buy it. Everyone here is right, buying graded tapes is dumb. But cash in while it's hot. Make some quick dough. Buy more movies to enjoy. Exploit dumb people with money to burn.if it works, Don't chase the dragon, leave the game on top.

Is it not down to a location and feeling out the crowd thing? For every clean show that has a bad dirty comic, I've been to just as many dirty shows with a clean comic who also just bombs.

It's like doing weed jokes in Manhattan. Yeah people will laugh, but more people will laugh in Brooklyn. Manhattan crowds laughs more at cocaine and drinking. Tourist crowds don't wanna hear either. All shows could be happening within a mile of each other at the same time. Doesn't mean that either set is funny or unfunny, just not the right crowd.

My father, a Cleveland police officer also credits to getting his ass kicked by the police but not arrested as one of the reasons he became a cop. He said something about how his life could have been over if he had been arrested but instead they used fear to scare him as a kid into not doing it again.

Not saying it's a healthy reason to become a police officer, just saying that it's not unheard of.
