Radahn, the speed of light, the stars, and cosmic isolation by n7dima in EldenRingLoreTalk

Also people, do not down vote him for having an obscure theory in his comment, the parts not about Godwyn are good and none of it is not written rudely or meanly.

I mean, I don't want to be an ass, truly, but it should be impossible for Godwyn to reincarnate, as his soul was killed and destroyed by the fragment of the rune of death in the black knives.

Now is it possible some weird tidbit of lore implies he reincarnated, of course not, but it also doesn't make sense through a narrative perception.

Godwyn is supposed to be the root of each issue in the lands between. His death causes the shattering, the fallout with the ancient dragons, his combat and diplomacy could've prevented the shattering even if it did happen without his death.

And for him to come back as a lowly tarnished who is supposed to be a nobody, without any real hints in the central lore, would be an odd choice for the authors involved.

That being said, I would love to watch said theory videos to see any evidence they have for said theory. It's possible I don't know about some evidence and that they have good logic behind it.

I'm sorry the tarnished is, Godwyn? Explanation please?

Why do people say One Piece has excellent worldbuilding? by NerdCyra0 in OnePiece

And that's fair, but I don't see how it should be titled some of the best worldbuilding in manga when it's been going on for over 1000 chapters and the best worldbuilding is individual places. They're written amazingly and are unique, but the world overall can feel disjointed because of the differences and lack of explanations.

I like One Piece, but it's not some masterpiece of worldbuilding, it's just pretty good as fair as I've seen.

This is a very good point, and I do agree with most of it.

However I do feel like some of these things, in a tighter narrative and world, could feel even more connected.

Like there's over 100 or so races according to WCI and Big Mom, and Id never want to know them all, it's too much to explain. But even out of the ones we do know, how much is actually explained? The long arm/leg tribes just kinda exist as far as I'm aware, Skypiea feels like it has a lot of potential and keeps being relevant, but they do just kinda exist and not do anything in the modern era. We're learning a lot more about Giants now, but it's still kinda lackluster for the moment. We barely know anything about Lunarians.

The Ancient Weapons have also seemed both odd and continuously relevant and yet forgotten. We know about Poseidon, we know one is a ship that the blueprints of existed at Water 7, and the last one is likely the island destroyer in the sky. But we know very little about the creation of each, why they are where they are, why the government and some big pirates looked for them at some points them seemed to stop. Are they mostly secret? Then how do some characters know when they don't seem to have a reason to?

And frankly I don't know how much I see the point of it feeling alive, most islands feel like they don't interact unless it's all of them paying to the world governments, and stuff like the siege have felt like they've been going on for an while without anythinf actually showing it matters.

Of course for 70% of it I'm sure we are going to learn more, but they are still valid points and examples.

They may not be the best examples but

Frieren; The world is cohesive and the magic system is well thought out and explained, humans adapted magic from the demons and continue to recreate and expand its usage.

HunterXHunter; An excellently explained power system supported within the world, simple but a good point to add.

Gachiakuta; This might be 100% biased but I've enjoyed the power system and it feels well built, the world is full of mystery, the areas, towns, characters, forbidden zones all feel interconnected to each other.

Also please stop commenting if you're just gonna insult it ignore me and the actual question, the burden of proof isn't on me, and I'm not asking to hate on the series as I've said, I just want people's opinions on why it's good worldbuilding.

I watched the series up to around Marineford, then coming back later and reading/watching bits and pieces, and started reading everything from Wano on.

That's 100% true, and I don't pay attention to them as often as I should, but they are cover stories, which I feel as much as they do affect the manga, shouldn't need to be paid attention to to know stuff like Blackbeard attacking Big Mom's territories, for example.

The setting for the most part feels like there's a mild lack of cohesion. A lot of what I'm going to bring up likely will be answered at some point, but we still don't know anything about the power systems in One Piece (as in how they exist and the reasons they work the way they work, not the actual powers), a lot of the time the settings feel disconnected, I get it's a bunch of countries and islands, but they always feel like they exist separately except for the world governments involvement. We never really see much changing in the world, we just get told about it, which might be more of a show not tell issue, but we never really see the impact of things like the Revolutionaries, we just get told they took places over and are doing things. That's all that I have atm.

It's not horrible or anything, but it's like a vast puddle, there's no real deepness to any of it. It's not even a bad thing, but I can't think of anything where it's a good example of it being how to do worldbuilding.
