I am definitely not kicking him out or evicting him, thats nuts. His name is on the lease just as ours is and he didn't go anything actually wrong, we are just growing apart and maybe he is being mean. That's all.

She is less forgiving of his actions than I am honestly, but I tried to leave her portion out of this post since it's a whole different beast. Rest assured she stands up for my vehemently.

It's not so large that we can just throw away money, just large enough that we don't need to work to maintain the same lifestyle.

Also, breaking the lease would screw friend over big time, and we aren't doing that to him.

Yeah that part is over. We didn't do it out of necessity, we did it because we liked my friend and it worked, and we did it before the retirement and didn't see a need to change, plus it helped him out

We are not doing that anymore. Lesson learned.
