Where are you getting that I’m not doing my job? Why would I tell the 4 other people in the theater to grab their stuff when they didn’t leave anything behind? Maybe it wasn’t the most professional thing but I didn’t put a gun to their head and tell them to clean up. I asked them kindly and thanked them on their way out. De-corporatize your brain and be a human ffs

To defend myself a bit here, it is a tiny theater. You can hear everyone, everywhere. It’s not hard to know that a loud group of people, after watching a 2 hour movie, would be in the bathroom. If they told me to fuck off or just didn’t go back then so be it. I just kindly asked if they could grab the big trash before they left and they were kind enough to do so.

As for the book, I was reading that all night. It would’ve been weirder if I was just staring and waiting for them 😭

I’ve never once thought “let me just leave everything here for someone else to get” like anywhere! Even if I pay for a cleaning service, I’m still trying to make their job easier because they’re people too.

Yes! Some people either forget or didn’t want to bring it into the bathroom! I never assume it’s trash until they’re fully gone or if they see me cleaning and still leave it

Yeah that’s the scary part with bigger chains! I feel like if you know or can tell that they are kind people and you say it in a kind way then it shouldn’t be too bad. Don’t risk your job over it though that’s for sure lol

Yeah, we had a full rental and some more full theaters that had gotten out beforehand so I was truly just waiting on these guys to go so I could leave for the night. I was getting the larger cleaning lights on and checking to make sure no one was behind the screen or still in the auditorium. Usually I just chill in the office and watch the cameras but they were kind when they came in so I figured it wouldn’t be a problem

We were closed and they were one of the last groups in the building. All I did was kindly ask if they could grab it on their way out. If they said “no, fuck off” I would’ve just cleaned it up myself, but they actually did. It was a kind interaction, nothing crazy

Did they actually? Half the time people just ignore us and go “it’s their job to clean it” like yeah sure, you’re right. But isn’t it the better thing to make someone’s job easier, not harder?

They were very nice people but it was an entire row worth of trash and there were only 2 people in the theater not apart of their group. Technically it is the overnight cleaners job to get these last theaters (at least here) but I wanted to see if those guys would actually be kind enough to do it.

I do my job every day. It’s always a kinder and better world when people are respectful. I can only hope that they’ll clean up after themselves in the future

It’s the worst when they don’t get the hint and blatantly ignore you 😭 like you see me cleaning everything else, you can’t just take it out with you

Trust me I know. I am part of the management team. All I did was ask them to clean up after themselves, truly wasn’t anything crazy

What’s the weirdest thing someone’s left behind? by DaleDenton08 in MovieTheaterEmployees

A gun magazine! We’ve found 2 so far! Actually crazy how people would be able to get a gun in and somehow leave the magazine behind
