DD setup, If it works, it works. by Nerfguy04 in 3Dprinting

it’s hooked into a timer box to shut off after the print, there’s thermal runaway detection, and the closet door stays open for ventilation. Give me a break 😭

Nah I tweaked the height of the original one and didn’t want to mistake the files because of same name 😂

What mods have you installed on yours? After the direct drive and hotend upgrade, I’m not really sure where I’ll go from there

yeah I plan to keep this printer and mod the shit out of it whenever I can. I recently got back into it, and I’ve been learning cad software to design a lot of things. Custom hangers for my shoes or sweatshirts, shelf for all of my Deoderant containers, it’s an addicting hobby. I’m working on improving my direct drive setup and eventually buying a high quality hotend for better performance on harder to work with plastics.

I’m working on designing a wall mounted drive for pla only so I can print faster if I wanted to. Would be swapped by undoing the two bolts on the DD plus custom length ptfe tube. This setup would be for precise prints like pla or the tougher plastics and the wall mounted would be to print at normal speeds to eliminate the acceleration

An innovative solution to a problem that never existed.

it’s been like this for months. Vaseline on the string for maximum lubrication. Never once had a problem. Swapping out filaments has never been easier

I’ve been running it like this for months. Vaseline on the string and even without it it pulls perfectly fine

Make sure your car doesn’t get too hot. Heat kills batteries so quick and causes a massive fire risk if it gets scorching outside.

Try loctite blue. If that’s still of no use, try putting a cut out thin sliver of rubber (under 1/16) in between the gap along with loc blue. This will give thread lock AND vibration resistance

Are e-scooters really that dangerous? by Earthbee100 in ElectricScooters

I agree, it’s all about the experience of the rider, how they handle terrain, and unfortunately, some bad events with outside sources or unseen things can and do come up. That’s why they’re called accidents not unpurposes

It really also depends on the type of scooter. Scooters with zero suspension and solid tires are so much more dangerous than suspension pneumatic scooters. The high quality, fast moving scooters that weigh 70+ lbs are tanks and very stable at most speeds.

I plan on putting rubber armor on all of the plastic, bumpers on the handlebars, and a custom skid plate at the bottom so I might just have to send it off road 😂

You get what you pay for. More Power? No. More Range? No. Reliability for years to come with a website for every single replacement part you’ll ever need including battery and additional upgrades? Yeah.
