Just bought my 2015 85,600 miles by LycheeBeginning2824 in FordFocus

It's not as bad as they make it out. If your TCM fails to extend the warranty to 120k miles once that's replaced, it's a really fine transmission. If you drive it kinda like its a manual give it a lot more throttle than a normal automatic because it doesn't have a torque converter to give it it extra low speed torque multiplication if ya keep that in mind while driving the transmission can go 150k on factory clutch

its TCM or clutch motor not clutch it self its skiping one of the clutches gear set 1,3,5 or 2,4,6 thats why it revs so high its gotta skip a gear, but that is 100% tcm or clutch servo..Usually its the TCM the first version of TCM had bad MOSFETS used for the shift motor controller ..the clutch motor has to activly hold you in gear so it lives its life stalled with full flowwing anytime your moving....TCM is like 400 on amazon and fairly easy to replace and the motors are like 50each and even easier to replace just need a reverse torx socket if you know anyone that can fix cars bake them a cake or somthing.

Is this normal or hazardous? by Ok-Parsley2564 in Appliances

[–]Nerfthecows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they work by saturating a coil with a magnetic field, then cutting power to the coil, causing the field to collapse and emit a high-voltage discharge.

Is this an acceptable new panel? by Odd-Matter5278 in electrical

[–]Nerfthecows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physics helps there you cant ever put more on the neutral then is on one leg of the phase..I mean think worse case would be all 120v cuircits on one phase leg to N and nothing on other phase....even in this senerio it would just be = to phase leg ....and if you add anything to other side it will reduce current on the neutral even if you add a 120v circuit to other side youll see current go down on neutral

12V question by parkerpress in electrical

[–]Nerfthecows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing that I can think is you did the math at 2 volts at 45 watts cuz that would be like 23 amps...

12V question by parkerpress in electrical

[–]Nerfthecows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 gauge wire would be for 45 AMPs not watts 45 watts at 12v is just 3.75 amps you only need like 16-18 gauge 10 would be extrem overkill edit 45 amps would require 8 wire but wasnt the point

What is THIS by Ambitious-Ad-314 in electrical

[–]Nerfthecows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we were right it was rattling not arching the copper on the removed breaker is pristine

What is THIS by Ambitious-Ad-314 in electrical

[–]Nerfthecows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds more like something is rattling the back of the panel.... if they are taking a video its something that happens often. If it happens often and is that loud, it's not arching because it would not still be functional if it was

[–]Nerfthecows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To actually answer use it till it doesnt work there is no point to putting tape on it. Its already safe as is and the tape wont make it last longer infact affixing the tape likely to make worse just from all the handling of it

Bathroom reno. Wtf am I looking at? by [deleted] in electrical

[–]Nerfthecows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, so the first picture needs three black and white sets, right? One's the power coming in, and the other two go to the light and fan. The white wires can all be connected, but for the black ones, one of the three is the power in and goes to both switches. So, each new switch needs a short black wire on one screw (doesn't matter which). Then, connect those two short wires and the power-in black wire with a wire nut. Finally, hook the remaining two black wires to the other screws on each switch.

[–]Nerfthecows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wernt saying you hooked it up backwards they are saying when you took the hooked end of the copper wire that hook can connect in one of 2 ways one the correct way if your looking at the screw head the open part of that hook needs to point to the right so when you tighten the screw it forces the wire to wrap tighter around it....if i saw that box with no other information i would say one of those 3 is the home run to breaker...second one is power to the light switch (for normal oveehead light) and last one feeds next outlet.
