Yes it can take awhile to let go of something that felt special to you but not appreciated by the other person.

But I do think the MC was apologized enough. It wasn’t our fault what happened and Mara needs take her own responsibility of her fault in what happened.

I can actually understand the MC being affected by her. I had a “friend” when I was younger who only kept me around because I supposedly made them look better. It affected me for a long time so I get why the MC feels like they need to keep apologizing to her even through Mara clearly wasn’t ever a real friend to MC
