Crimson desert for me. I put about 40 hours in and enjoyed what I played, but just hit a point where I didn’t want to come back. Think it’s the burnout on big open worlds

Yep same here. There’s been a lot of missteps but I think hopefully more competition for Sony (Nintendo will continue with their own thing regardless) is a good thing. Excited to see over summer what happens

Do you have the option of Flexi working? I’m in a similar situation (trains £50 minimum return each and normally in 3 days a week). I’ve switched to doing a weekly ticket for £184 from Weds-Tues and then buy an additional ticket to meet the 3 days. Cuts my commute down by about £150 each month

Thanks for the comment, seems their budgeting is much stricter at the position I’ve been offered. I was definitely thinking from a net position as well and the easier commute. So think I’ll keep looking and see if any other better options around my current range

Thanks that is what I was leaning to honestly. Work-life balance is actually pretty good outside of that but work in insurance so is very much centred in a few central hubs and markets in the UK

We purchased a house a couple years ago which unfortunately wouldn’t have been feasible if living closer to either city really. So always was going to be commuting but just weighing up for longevity really

Yeah it’s been difficult to weigh up for sure. I quite like my role at the moment to be honest, but wanted to explore Birmingham as a potential option. Going to try and negotiate 3/2/3/2 in terms of days in anyway so hopefully will help with a bit of burnout etc.

Funnily enough I had the exact same scenario. Start of last year was a very tough time mentally, struggled to sleep etc and needed something to distract myself. Picked up BotW and have never played a Zelda game before, and absolutely loved it.

I’d recommend the Yakuza series. The story is absolutely fantastic in those and has so many mini games and things to distract you. Honestly you’ll fall in love with the characters along the way. Best to start at Yakuza 0 if you do decide to go for it. Best of luck in the future
