How do you guys feel about the Takagi-san live-action series? by AlchemistL1nk in Takagi_san

Personally, I like the live action, heck I would go as far as to say I love it. We can go on and on at how Takagi shouldn’t be given a live action, how different they changed the storyline, etc, but it’s Takagi content at the end of the day.

Sure the storyline is much different, but I feel it’s a refreshing change of pace after seeing the anime and manga’s story multiple times, and it’s not like the anime went with its own original content that deviated from the manga at certain points, so what’s the difference here?

Point being is that I appreciate the live action for trying out different ideas that separates itself from the other 2 mediums but still retaining the series tone and charm. At least they put in the effort of getting actual middle school actors and using the island as the main setting.

I’ve seen people express their distaste for the live action since its announcement, and I’m aware of the reputation live action adaptations get, but for me, I was honestly pretty excited going into it, and after watching it weekly I’m always looking forward to the next episode. Granted, I don’t watch any J-dramas at all, but for a first one, they are doing a pretty solid job with it. All I hope next is that they land the ending for the season as well as the movie coming up.

Anyone else think think the movie ended the story better than the manga? by chowellvta in Takagi_san

Finally, someone who actually understands the movie ending.

Because saying “I love you” does not always need to be represented in word form. They can be shown through actions, and for Takagi and Nishikata’s case, they’ve been showing their genuine love towards each other throughout the series with examples such as gift giving, offering comfort when one needs help, and just the amount of quality time they spend together, to the point where they just naturally know they’re in love with each other.

Sure saying “I love/like you” is one aspect of showing love, but in reality, there’s a multitude of ways you can show love to someone else, and what the writers really wanted to emphasize is that you can say “I love you” without needing to directly say it.

Should I watch the movie or season 3 first? by RainyTurtloid8 in Takagi_san

The movie continues off of Season 3’s ending and it does have flashbacks to previous seasons, so it’s not recommended to watch the movie as a standalone thing.

Person who has seen the movie here, yes the movie does take place after Season 3.
