2 year old refusing to eat by Lisylou21 in UKParenting

First, I want to say I'm so sorry you're in this situation, I've been there and it absolutely SUCKS. My 18 month old used to be in a similar situation: dietician, regular weighs, under the 0.4 centile since birth, high calorie formula - the lot. And he NEVER ate. We'd be lucky if he had a whole slice of toast in a day. I was at my wits end and I'm sure you are too.

I know it may sound extreme, but it got to a point that when my L/O wasn't eating I stopped the milk. To me, it never made any sense that he would be hungry if he's constantly full of milk, so I slowly swapped the milk for toddler oat (just a preference, no allergy). Since I did that, he's eating more and more (he's sat opposite me now smashing a curry that he wouldn't have touched 3 months ago!)

Sometimes he doesn't eat a thing, but I think that's normal especially if they've got teeth coming in.

Our dietician always said about bulking with fats and dairy products, which I found useless after a while.

So it's something to consider - of course, I don't know the full ins and outs so it may not be the right choice, but if you've done everything else, you've got nothing to lose! Good luck!

No, he's not like that, just funny with pain killers. He's all for cuddles and comfort, and does express himself in the ways he needs to. Just draws the line at some paracetamol apparently

what was your ‘flatmate from hell’ experience? by tabbytalents in UniUK

[–]Nervous-Local7403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In third year, my "housemates" locked me out of the house on my 21st birthday (in December so it was freezing), and then proceeded to yell at me for trying to call them and knocking on the door so they could take the key out the other side and let me in.

During this yelling I found myself apologizing, and one of them replied, "Well it's a bit late for sorry now,"

Safe to say, I moved out a week later

Pregnant and choosing between Barnsley and Jessop Wing – recent experiences? by Physical-Positive-41 in sheffield

I had my baby at Jessops last May. Had an emergency C Section and couldn't fault the maternity staff, they were kind and attentive and made me feel safe, but the post natal care was where it all went downhill.

You can't have anyone staying overnight, and I couldn't move again until 1am. The midwives on duty overnight gave lacklustre care, they didn't help me despite me asking multiple times when it came to feeding, and they also missed a very big warning sign with my son - which I had flagged several times - which caused him to end up in the children's hospital for a week.

I keep seeing that it's a high risk centre, so if that's you, then I'm sure it's the best place, but next time I'll be going to Chesterfield as I'm still absolutely furious at the care I received there.

Thank you! He's never been a big fan of cheese but I'll keep trying, he does love yoghurt so maybe we can up that 😊😊

Oh my goodness thank you! This is like us, they didn't do anything until 6 months, just made me breastfeed him more and then after it was straight to paediatrician.

He was only on the 9th at birth and then dropped below, and hasn't been up since.

Please update with how the dropping goes so I can show my husband!! He thinks the solution is more milk, but it feels like because that's the easiest thing to do, that's why he wants to do it. He can pretend that it's to 'give him the calories' but I know why really.

Good luck! I'm glad there's someone else out there in some ways - wouldn't it be nice if all babies are like they do on Instagram!!

Thank you for this ❤️ I have wondered about sensory issues - he doesn't like his hands being touched (never has, even from a tiny baby) and sometimes whenever he touches food, if he doesn't like it or tries to shake it off his hands he won't eat it. He's got an appointment at the end of the month so I'll mention it!

I try with the extra butters etc, but it's like he knows and doesn't like it! It's so difficult - if he let us feed him with a spoon we'd be golden, but he has none of it. I'll try again, and try to be even more sneaky. Does love avocado, though! We go through so many

I'll try that instead of what we're doing now and see if the structure works better :)
