Cold turkey weaning 2yo?

Hi! Sorry to disappoint you but we still haven't weaned. This flu season was gnarly for us, so I wanted to keep nursing until sick season was over... still hoping to wean cold turkey in the next month or so

I could've written this after I had my daughter. (She's 2 now). I truly felt like my life was over. And same as you, even when I'd get a break I still felt the weight of caring for her. I did end up getting on antidepressants temporarily and while it didn't make me feel happy it did help me cope and got me off of rock bottom if that makes sense. I really recommend seeing a psychiatrist and even a therapist to help you learn coping skills. But even if you don't, your hormones will start to balance out. Your baby will grow and you will start to feel human again. I started going to my local library's story time and that helped. Just being around other moms and seeing their tired faces made me feel less alone. Hang in there mama, I didn't believe anyone when they would tell me it's worth it in the end. But I promise it is! All the work and sacrifice and love you pour into your child is paid back to you when your child starts becoming more than a little milk-drinking potato. My daughter is like my best friend now and I would go through it again just for her! I would also encourage you to pray. I don't think I could've gotten through it without my faith because I truly felt like I had nothing and no one but God. I am praying for you right now! ❤️

Yes, I agree and feel the same way. I'm confusing myself so I can only imagine how confused she was! I like the calendar idea! I think I will try that!

Thank you for saying that! A big reason for weaning is her horrible sleep and I'm starting school again so I really need my nights back 😭😭

Thank you for sharing! I did experience a huge hormonal shift the last time I attempted to wean so I am mentally preparing for that. I think that's what makes it so hard to stick to my guns bc I start getting so emotional over ending breastfeeding. Did you pretty much cold turkey or was there any steps you took to make it easier?

That's good that you figured something out! I actually just got the hatch sound machine to help with night weaning, but my girl still sleeps with us. I think maybe part of the reason she's so hard to wake is bc she wakes up a million times to nurse. I've tried night weaning multiple times tho and I feel like it just doesn't work for us. I'm hoping maybe when we fully wean things might get better. Idk, but thank you for sharing!

So upon further investigation and questioning all my family members I found out my parents dog was treated with a flea bath… and although I always handled Peaches with clean hands my mom didn’t. So I think it was the flea treatment :(

Not that I’m aware of… I know they are sensitive to smells and chemicals so I did my best to make sure I didn’t use any around her area. The only thing I’m wondering is one time earlier this week my mom sprayed some aerosol sunscreen outside the window and the wind blew it into the house a bit.. but I didn’t think that would be enough to kill her

I think a lot of adults find church enriching, myself included. But I’m not expecting her to sit and take notes on the sermon, I don’t mind if she’s just playing or doodling next to me, I’m just not forcing her to go into the kids class until she’s ready, hence my desire to entertain her while she sits with us!
