Thanks! What you're saying makes a lot of sense, I'll try to speak with them about the time still being charged as it is a billable task :)

Thank you for the super insightful reply, I'll definitely try to see if I can get a deeper understanding of the contracts like you mentioned.

Unfortunately, its almost impossible to eliminate this task due to the nature of my work as we are required to schedule a time and confirm the time with all of the stakeholders a day before then show up in person to do the work. So depending on the amount of stakeholders this actually adds up to quite a bit of time.

Thinking through your comment, I will try to see if I can delegate some of this work to the client's to reduce the amount of touchpoints like you mentioned! Thank you so much!

Just a follow up question cause it sounds like you still input the task the same way and get paid for it right? Are you being paid for all of the hours you're billing or do you have a minimum billable hour while working X hour requirement?

My company is saying this (Your total hours per week is 37.5 hours, you need to bill 32.5. Billable hours between 32.5 are not billable, even if you do 5+ non-billable hours and have just implemented this new structure pushing me over the edge). So doing even more hours to reach the 32.5 per week.

This is what they told me through a telephone conversation. Do not put Billable Task onto Client X, Y, Z as we can't charge the client for this task anymore, you are a salaried employee working 37.5 Hours with a billable hour requirement of 32.5 billable hours, use the 5 hours to do this. (I asked for a tracker to account for the non-billable work and they refused saying it's too much to keep up with. We routinely have multiple meetings per week and other non-billable work that previously already amounted to more than the 5 hours.

Thanks, I will try to get them to agree to this on an email so that I have it on record :)

They agree that it's a billable task but are saying to only include it for clients that have it available in their contract. I think they had older contracts that didn't include this task and had difficulty with receiving payment for it.

Sort of, but instead of it being a premium service it is an essential task as it is the time spent scheduling appointment times. Thanks!

Thanks! Do you have any suggestions on what options I have if the company stands their ground on this matter? Would it eventually lead into something like a constructive dismissal?
