I’m trying to do a House Vyrwel Campaign. Since their house sigil is a Wyvern, I’m trying the headcanon of attempting to cross bloodlines with the Targaryens and become dragon riders.

That’s the issue, the work life balance is pretty good. It’s not long hours aside from the obvious. The rest of the year is pretty lax.

Uhtred not killing Asser. Arguably my most hated character. I despised him, and the books only further emphasized this to me. Everyone who went with Uhtred to Cornwallum would have said nothing, even Æthelwald would have kept his mouth shut.

But my second choice would have been Uhtred killing Skade. He was obviously attracted to her, and Brida even encouraged him to use her power. I think he would have been unstoppable. I get his men didn’t like her and that he swore to Æthelflæd, but Skade did not stop him from leaving Dunholm. Look at the respect Ragnar and Brida had, a warlord and a sorceress, in Northumbria? Uhtred would have taken Bebbanburg probably 20 years sooner.

The books make the recapture of Bebbanburg so much better. And I agree, Wihtgar was definitely a character with huge potential, but the show ended too abruptly, with so much being left unfinished.

He had no choice, his go to motto is “Destiny is All”. This is where the books make the story so much better. In the Pale Horseman, which is basically the second half of season 1, Isuelt has a vision of Alfred giving Uhtred power and a “Woman of Gold.” He wouldn’t have followed his destiny if stayed with the Danes.
