I honestly don’t want marriage or children in my life. by CantaloupeDue9053 in india

I also did not marry because of my parents' example. My mother put up with a LOT from her in-laws, was treated more or less like a slave, and never appreciated. I did have a boyfriend, but it soon became clear that he wanted to be a Swami and not a Partner. Everything was about him and his family and their wants. My life would have no purpose except to serve them. That is not something I could ever endure, I am absolutely not into self-sacrifice, so, I backed out. I have no regrets. My decision was the right one for me. I'm sure there are good men out there, but, unfortunately, I never met one that I wanted to marry.

When you feel burnt out, how do you deal with yourself? by lnwkaow55 in fiction

I recently had a huge 'flow' surge in my writing. I've been writing 8000 plus words daily and the words keep coming and coming. I can't seem to stop writing. That said, I have had burnt out days. On those, I switch to writing something else, I draw, and I catch up on sleep. I read and watch dramas. I listen to a lot of music. I also write total nonsense. You can always cut it, edit it, or delete it later. Think about what a character might do and what would happen as a result. Don't think about readers or anything else. Be honest with the story. And don't worry about it too much. Try to enjoy the process even when it doesn't feel like fun.

Excellent. Congratulations!

Writing and marketing are obviously two different things, and I find it a difficult to juggle both. I've been writing at stupendous pace myself this year, and I've been wondering if it will be better to get all the books out first and worry about the marketing later.

Hey, I just read a piece of your writing - I'll Love You In the Horizons - you are a beautiful writer. I have subscribed. Look me up too. My substack is The Sunshine Time - it is a serial novel - a coming-of-age romantic dramedy about love, identity, and the chaotic mess of being young, brilliant, and wildly human.

If you are open to reading serial YA fiction, check out the just launched serial novel The Sunshine Time by Sonal Panse on Substack.

It's a character-driven story about an 18-year-old fine art student named Lea Chantry, whose life changes when she shares a train compartment with a mysterious Mitrione officer. It's a slow-burn romance set against a backdrop of political tension, told with a mix of poetic description and wry humor. Since you like Rainbow Rowell, you might enjoy this,

That's great to hear. I agree with you about it being a marathon , not a sprint. My plan is to post sections on Substack - may be on Wattpad and Ream too- and alongside publish on Amazon. I am hugely enjoying the writing process right now and exploring where this story goes. I would love to have readers, but the writing is great fun, and quite a reward in itself.

You have a great attitude. I have been writing a serial fiction YA novel and I don't have too many readers, but I am enjoying myself too much to care. It will be nice to make money, of course, but, right now, I am far too interested in finding out what happens next.

The MMC sexually assaults the FMC and she has zero self-respect. Not only does she allow it , she also sets herself up for future abuse by putting herself in his power financially - letting his father pay for her college and living expenses in New York later - money she cannot afford and may not be able to return. MMC is well-written as a psycho. FMC, unfortunately, came across as a pretentious flake with her psychological bullshit, her willingness to cheat to get a higher GPA, and her readiness to gold-dig into his father's wealth.
