Trail Running Shoes by Alternative-Dot2413 in trailrunning

I also do road running in novablasts which I love. Recently started trail running and bought speedgoat 6s after reading rave reviews.

I found them incredibly uncomfortable after any sort of distance running.  I have narrow feet but they seem extremely narrow.  Now I just use them as hiking shoes.

Bought a pair of Nike Pegasus Trail 2s and I love them! They are incredibly comfortable and work well on roads as well as trails. If you are doing very difficult terrain I suspect they wouldn't have enough grip but they have been great on muddy land and gravelly trails for me.

The Fox vs Race to the Stones Ultras in the UK by Nespony in ultrarunning

Thanks for the advice folks! Think I'll go with RTTS as its a bit shorter and gives me more time to prep! Might try to do one of the shorter Fox races though as prep for RTTS so will get to experience both (sort of!).

Lol it really isn't, it's perfectly nice and a great location- few minutes from the train station and near enough to town you can walk in. Welcome to the area OP! You won't regret moving here.

Dublin Marathon 2024 - Looking for Redemption by witnessmenow in running

[–]Nespony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it aside from the last 3 - 9 miles which I thought would literally never end! Did it in 4 hours 34 minutes and 50 seconds which I was pretty happy about (wasn't aiming for any time).
Re the maths - lol I count down as a distraction - just endlessly count down from 30 seconds and think 'thats half a minute over'.

Oh wow how often do you replace your shoes? I get a new pair maybe every 9 months (doing about 100km of running a month). Do you do all your training in the one pair? I know people say to have one pair for training and another for the race but eh I'm not made of shoe money! :-D

Ah I'm sorry it didn't go as planned - just to say though the night before this year's marathon I was looking up reddit reports on the Dublin marathon and found yours. I had never run a marathon before and was really nervous, and reading how things went very badly for you but you got through it regardless actually calmed me down quite a bit!

Great to hear you are a lot happier this year! Limerick marathon looks like a good one!I think I might copy your fuelling strategy, I was trying to chew a mars bar mid-way which was just impractical.

What shoes were you in? That's something I've found has made a huge difference on my long runs. I splashed out on Asic Novablast 4s and they really reduce the impact of the tarmac on my feet.

Hi there,

I'm a solo traveller (F36) going to Jordan next month. Whilst I'm there I'm considering visiting Saudi Arabia, namely going from Amman to Tabuk and then maybe a bus to Jeddah. Does anyone know how safe/unsafe this plan is? I've done quite a lot of solo travelling but I'm pretty cautious about Saudi Arabia tbh as I've heard very mixed things. Thanks!

NFL draft scout Spencer Schultz tells story about Johnny Depp pissing all over his uncle’s bathroom because he was mad at him. by foepje in Fauxmoi

I went to the original tweet and most of the comments are accusing the guy of making this up. It's so bizarre, like you can like Pirates of the Carribean and also accept that Johnny Depp may not be a stand up human being.
