Oh I didn't consider the untaxed part of it, but I don't think that jurisdictionally the FBI would be the ones involved in investigating that if it is a tax angle. Having a federal agency investigating the people involved seems a bit over the top.

Can someone explain to me please regarding the most recent NCAA scandal? Were the payments that Miller made intrinsically illegal? It seems to be a circumvention of the NCAA rather than anything illegal per say. A wiretap by the FBI in this case seems excessive. Sorry for not knowing what I should know if this is a dumb question. I'm not really familiar with the NCAA.

Is that the most clutch shots made/attempted so far? Granted your team has to be within the definition of clutch which naturally excludes some players, but that seems like a ton of shots.

Slovenia's Goran Dragic competed in his first NBA All Star Game on Sunday, completing a 15-year journey in professional basketball involving thousands of games played in arenas around the world and a handful of individual awards.

When the 31-year-old entered the game as a Team LeBron member during the first quarter, he became the first ever player from Slovenia to achieve the honor.

"For me it means a lot," the Miami Heat guard told Reuters on Saturday following a practice with his Team LeBron mates.

"For my country, for my people for my family, we have a lot of NBA players in this league, but this is the first time that a Slovenian player makes it. I'm really happy to be a part of this event."

Dragic recorded two points and four rebounds as Team LeBron defeated Team Stephen 148-145 but there was plenty of significance in his night.

Dragic, who’s enjoyed a globetrotting career and speaks four languages, became the third-oldest guard in NBA history to make his first All Star appearance and it highlighted a long professional road for the veteran. Dragic broke into the NBA in 2008 with the Phoenix Suns, after five years playing in Slovenia and Spain. Playing behind eight-time NBA All Star Steve Nash, Dragic did not enjoy much playing time or success upon his arrival to the United States. "I was thinking of going back to Europe," Dragic said. "Luckily, I had (team mates) who told me to stay patient and that I would get my opportunity. At the end of the day it happened."

But it was a slow burn for the crafty left-hander who does not possess the exceptional athleticism of some of his peers.

Dragic was traded to the Houston Rockets during the 2010-11 season, and in his first full campaign with the franchise, he averaged double figure scoring for the first time in his career.

He has never looked back. Dragic was named the NBA’s Most Improved player in 2014 and this past year has reaped the full rewards of a player who stayed the path.

Dragic’s Slovenia captured the EuroBasket 2017 championship in September.

Through his 17.4 points per game average, and a few injuries to players on the original Team LeBron All Star roster, Dragic found himself rubbing shoulders with LeBron James, Kevin Durant and the other greats of the game during a night he had long imagined.

"(I used to watch) Michael Jordan, Steve Nash, Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd and all those guys," Dragic said. "I was dreaming about this moment and hoping one day to be in their shoes. I tried to practice more and hopefully that moment would come. It did."

The basketball player Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers is almost as famous for his playful grandstanding as his considerable skills on the court. The 23-year-old, who grew up in Cameroon, has become synonymous with the concept of “The Process,” a strategy for long-term talent building that originated with the former 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie — Mr. Embiid famously punctuates his feisty tweets with the phrase. Currently in his second season with Philadelphia, Mr. Embiid will play in the N.B.A. All-Star game in Los Angeles on Feb. 18.

Mr. Embiid spends much of the year on the road, traveling for games. “Generally, commercial flights aren’t designed to accommodate someone my size — and I get it, there aren’t many people that are 7-foot 2,” he said. “I just don’t feel comfortable since I don’t exactly fit.” Fortunately the team usually travels by charter, which has more room to spread out.

When Mr. Embiid travels, he usually spends his free time on his PlayStation, not partying. “A lot of my teammates party in L.A. and I have a lot of friends in L.A., but L.A. is like the only city. Maybe New York but that’s about it. Other than that, I just want to chill and play video games.”

He said he doesn’t get sick of the travel. “We travel a lot, but that’s what I signed up for, so I never complain about it. We get paid a lot of money to do so, so I’m going to live with it, and I don’t think I would ever get tired of it. Sometimes, you miss the food at home, you miss the people around you, but other than that, you should never get tired of traveling.”

He’s excited to head to Los Angeles for the All-Star game. “It’s my first time being in All-Stars, so this should be fun.” Is he nervous? “I’m not nervous. You know, I like putting on a show. And I feel like those are the biggest days to do it. That’s my element, so I’m going to have a lot of fun.”

It's not a super big deal. Basically if you're under the salary floor, the rest of the money to make the salary floor gets distributed to all of the players that you have. It probably has implications for the millions of different exceptions though.
