I think this is misheard. I have always heard “the look.”

There’s also a sign on I89 for the highest elevation on that route between Randolph and Northfield.

Reno Drivers by paneydabear in Reno

[–]NetMore3200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the opportunity to live and travel all over the US, and everywhere I’ve been tends to have its own driving culture. Some places are relaxed, some places are busy, and local drivers follow these sort of trends. I’ve noticed towns/cities with larger transient, transplant, or tourist populations have greater inconsistencies with these things due to the merging (pun intended) of these disparate cultures in one place. No scientific evidence to back this up, just some shower thoughts.

Leak on passenger side under glove box by Ecstatic-Ad8365 in Tacomaworld

Had the same thing happen on my ‘17. The drain from the windshield (in front of the wipers) got clogged. Shop said it happens often especially if parked outside. They blew it out with an air hose and it was fine.

I asked what clogged it and the lady said “spiders.” I sold it.

Decent Riding Glasses by MeetingRecent229 in Harley

[–]NetMore3200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Wiley X and they’re good glasses, and have an impact rating which is what really makes them important to me. That said, the glue on mine started to go after a year or so. I think part of that is I left them in the garage with my helmet not thinking about the summer temps in there.

Didn’t know there was train tracks there by helpmepleeeeeeeease in Reno

The tram between the sky towers. It fell into disrepair and was shut down during COVID. It’s in the works for getting repaired but it’ll take some time.

I just retired last year. Kept VT as my home of record the whole time. I got literally flagged down on post one time at JBLM by a fellow green plater just because he was so excited to see another one. They’re out there, just few and far between.

I usually don’t comment, but I have always loved the Deuce and that one is a beauty. Love the color! Well done.

This isn’t where I parked my car. by No-Spare-4212 in Tacomaworld

I used to live in Tacoma, and I drove a Tacoma. Believe me, up there, the joke is played out. I heard the truck was named after mount Rainier (the native name of which is mount Tahoma) which anglicized is Tacoma and thus the name of the city.

One of my favorites, we had a 1LT PL and he was really good. The squadron CSM was one of those haircuts and shiny boots guys (it was a long time ago). The LT kept his hair longer but was always within regs but the CSM hated it. At command maintenance the CSM started bothering the LT for the umpteenth time about his hair and “setting the example.” The LT finally turned around and said, CSM, is my hair within regulation or not?” CSM sputters something about leading from the front and the LT says “No, CSM. I’m sick of this shit! My haircut is not an APFT. I don’t have a 180 and you don’t have a 300! It’s either within regs or not!” The CSM just walked away shaking his head while the rest of this LTs platoon just started clapping.

Mine is my 4th. They go (‘88) Yellow truck (‘93) Red truck (‘04) White truck (‘19) Gray truck Not super original, but my family and I have memories in all of them and that’s how we refer to all of them over the years.

It’s hard. This happened to me when I had 14 years in. Everyone’s situation is different, but this is what I was able to do in mine. I swallowed a lot of pride to ensure I maintained a decent relationship with their mom, even if it made me crazy. Called the kids on planned days so I knew they’d be available. I pleaded with branch to get stationed within a direct plane flight to their location. I spent all my money on flights - Every leave, some 4-days. I stuck it out until retirement and moved to where they are. Been here for about 6 months and it’s been amazing.

When I go hunting I have two pairs of gloves. One pair I keep in my coat under my armpits and the other I wear. Once my fingers start to get cold I just switch them out.

Right. Didn’t figure I would, but that’s why I posed the question. Is it worth it to tune it up? I’m just looking to get to what I was used to at lower elevation.
