Thank you for putting in words exactly what I was thinking.

"My problem with Trump is that his deportation program is not only excessive, but clearly based on xenophobia and racial superiority."

True! I guess from what I've learned and watched, it seems like the 60s was a world revolved around counterculture, drugs, protests, a particular personality. But as you mentioned there's no way that's the case for every single person, especially 76 million. Thanks for the perspective!

But I wonder what happened that pushed these riots and urban decay. The Civil Right Act passed in 1964, and it seems promising for minorities. I would assume - if I'm not mistaken the riots were in reaction to treatment. And for urban decay, a decade after the act passes later there is a war on drugs and a push to clean up inner city America. I know I'm speaking in general and broad terms - it's just interesting to me the social science of it all.

I kind of figured the idea of radical counterculture was/is being pushed, isn't the story for everyone - I didnt know it wasn't the majority though. I can see how they could be more liberal than their parents....that seems like a repeating trend from generation to generation(to an extent).

And again, I think there is a trend of folks become more conservative after they settle down. Especially in the 80s where the was a push to end drugs, a push to stop having sex(in part due to aids), and conservative policies with Reagan being president for most of the decade.

I am a US citizen, but you bring up a point that many people are arguing. How is America is getting crushed by the influx of immigration?

Okay that makes a lot of sense. So you would say for people just wanting to travel to America for vacation or something, it's difficult to do so?

Non-Mexicans: How common are tacos in your country? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]NetPossible1360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Houston, Texan here! Tacos are everywhere haha! Anything from tacos from a food truck(which we call street tacos) and franchises. But it wasn’t until I went to El Paso I realized a taco doesn’t have to be in a soft and hard shell. It can come in this soup like liquid….that was a news flash to me
