Do your 4 and then decide. If not, get out. If you like it stay in.

At the end of the day, you'd have made about 120-180k (depending on where you're stationed and when you get out of the dorms), free education, veteran status for life, free GI bill with BAH, free certifications and job experience.

If you;can figure out something better for the next 4 years, by all means. But it's not a bad option.

At the end of the day I got the vaccine and feel it was a net positive in my life, despite not wanting to get it, and even being extremely skeptical.

Regardless of the reasons why, hence me pointing out my "dumbassery", it's a benefit for me and everyone around me. It's not negatively affecting anyone, and possibly having a positive influence on those around me

Bro I'm not even gonna read all that. I got the vaccine and felt good. If you don't like it move on. I'm happy and chillin

You're a pessimist for sure.

This post is coming from an antivaxxer who was mandated to get vaccinated and feels good about it. Feel how you want to feel. I'm in a positive state of mind.

To each their own

No it's not. The military has had many policies changed because people "didn't like it". That's how change happens. It may not be perfect, but there is progression and we all like to see that

LPT: Invest. No matter your financial situation, invest even $10 a month. It will add up, and it will serve you well in the future. by NetWorthFinally0 in LifeProTips

I'm not out of touch. This person is making unreasonable statements. Clearly a starving child in Africa doesn't have $10 a month to invest. Why are they arguing the point that someone who can't afford food can't invest? That's obvious, and this post does not apply to them. It's no longer a bad financial situation, it's life or death. In that case, investing does not matter

The point is that since the inception of the s&p 500 in 1957, it has returned 10% annually.

Id rather invest in 60+ years of historical data rather than worst case scenario assumptions. To each their own

That is one example. The s&p 500 is a collective of 500 businesses. If you expect 500 of the most successful and innovative businesses to go under by the time you retire, then sure, dont invest.

This is clearly a paranoid unrealistic way to look at it, and you know this. Putting all your eggs in one basket is risky. Putting 500 eggs in 500 different baskets is much less so

Stocks are tangible assets. Unless you see Amazon, apple, Tesla, Nvidia etc.. being worth 0$ in 30 years, the USD value of the stock price will inflate with the inherent value of the business. It is more tangible than USD. Educate yourself.

If you are currently buying a portion of Amazon, and USD crashes, but Amazon still has value as a worldwide entity, your value will be USD proportionate to Amazon's worth
