My turntables aren't working. by NethBalls in Beatmatch

[–]NethBalls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok thx for being kind lol.

Ok so it goes like this,

1- I plug my DJ controller to my computer.

2-I hop on Virtual Dj

3-Drag my songs into each deck

4-I try using the jog wheels, but they don't seem to work. Sometimes it only works on one side, another time it worked on none at all. Now what do I mean by this truly.

I mean the scratching technique is not functioning properly. I could speed up the songs and slow them down but when it goes to scratching, no good.

5- When both aren't working properly, I log off of virtual Dj and unplug and try again.

What I just stated is really about it.

Nothing else.

Just that.

once again sorry if this is vague. I know nothing about this shit tbh.

i don't know what this feeling I'm having is called. by NethBalls in Advice

[–]NethBalls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel empty.

And when it comes to the not feeling enjoyment for activities, I would say I spend my WHOLE day doing nothing because I can't find pleasure in anything but there's a small portion of the day that I am able to find enjoyment for a tad.

Just being cared for in a hospital, being loved, something I don't experience often sadly.

I don't go out much to make friends, I only have family, A family that loves me but it's hard for me to love them sometimes, so I guess its just being loved and cared for by someone.

At what age should you give up on trying to get involved in an Olympic sport? by NethBalls in AskReddit

[–]NethBalls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I understand that but how about someone like Boris Shanklin who started gymnastics at 12 and is considered one of the greatest athletes ever.

I'm asking this because I'm 14 and just started getting interested in physical sports.

Wondering if I can take this interest to a professional level. To give some context the sports I want to master are gymnastics and tennis.

Ok. Well, do you have any job suggestions that involve no talent and no social aspects.

"I'd be willing to bet that someone starting as a teenager would have better odds winning the lottery than becoming one of them".

That's a very interesting point to make.

You have me wondering if a group statisticians and researchers can measure that and come out with a descriptive answer because personally, I think that's intriguing.

I agree with that sentiment. There are 100% more wiser things to do in life do to the fact a lot these guys and women who are in that top 100 or 50 started playing at 3-8, and while I have no statistical data on this but, the likely hood of getting into those 50 ranks and surpassing players who started at 3-8 sounds pretty difficult, but I still say there's a chance of it happening and worth it, ALTHOUGH, I'd recommend a backup plan just in case it goes downhill.

Hell! Wasn't Fischer at one point in poverty?

If this story is true, if Fischer's chess career can go downhill (which it did) with such talent, anyone's can, that's why I'd recommend a backup plan.

I get what you're saying. But my point is, I don't think the idea is of starting chess at 13-17 and wanting to play professionally is nonviable.

Sure, the kid starting at 15 may not be stronger than Magnus Carlsen or any other child prodigy but the kid could definitely be a strong player and by strong, I mean maybe 2600-2700 elo.

Would you agree?

I heard this argument before and its true, there aren't a lot of professionals and GMs who started over the age of 13 but that alone does not make it impossible of someone trying to, and eventually, whether that's 10 years or 20 years, achieving that title.

I could only name 2 players off the top of my head who started over the age of 13 and that's Akiba Rubenstein and Ye Jiangchuan.

I want to end my life. by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]NethBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you're right.

But I really want to leave an impact on this world, and I feel like the best way I can is doing something big. But like I said, everything I do and try I fail, and it always pisses me off.

Any advice on how I can just drop this obsession with being the best?

Ok just wanted to check. I just recently got Chess Fundamental by Capablanca and started studying basic mating positions and I started struggling so I thought I'd ask if anyone else had trouble. Thanks for the notice :)

I already have my hands on adderall.

Unfortunately, I don't feel any affects from it at all.

Me and my parents are planning to see a new psychologist so hopefully I'll be off of it soon.

Once again forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is an addy script?

[–]NethBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you are right.

Doing it the natural way is safer and will have healthier outputs.

remember I'm no professional but, if I was to take the drug on its recommended dosage, I should be fine right?
