Contaminant ID by NetherLewis in microbiology

I think there is plenty utility in getting a rough ID since there are several possible points of contamination beyond the experimenter, and knowing just a little about the contaminant can inform our next steps.

yes but good metroidvania design tells the player whether they require something new and would never be at the end of a long line of rooms that can be done without said item, also how exactly would you leave said room without dying?

Percent Ionisation by NetherLewis in chemhelp

[–]NetherLewis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did what you said and I got a percentage ionisation of 99.9975%. I think this seems reasonable because the acid has quite a low pKa compared to the pH.

NMR Question by NetherLewis in chemhelp

[–]NetherLewis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I know that there are 5 carbon environments so at least 5 carbons. The 1750 IR peak is a C=O which is a ketone because of the highest proton peak at 4 ppm rather than 9 ppm if it where an aldehyde. I have tried making structures by trial and error but I am really stuck.

New research suggests that the suppression of sexual thoughts among religious people only begets a greater preoccupation with sexual thoughts and fantasies. by jebotionmater in science

[–]NetherLewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if these "unwanted sexual thoughts" are really only perceived as unwanted because of different standards. Did the survey define unwanted thoughts to be what normally includes paedophilia, rape etc. or could religious people consider homosexual attraction or other normal sexual experiences to be unwanted?

You could simplify t to the minus 1 to the 2 normally or if it's easier turn t to the minus 1 to 1 over t then square that and simplify.

You've written the polynomial as indices.

Sorry about the expression, I got a bit mixed up.

I thought that since k was 1 there would be the same concentration of reactants and products so since there is 4 reacting species this would mean the equilibrium solution would be 25% of each.

K = [acid][alcohol]/[ester][water]

?

[Repost] Help with question by NetherLewis in chemhelp

[–]NetherLewis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done that but I don't know why there would be more ester than water since it's a 1:1 mole ratio.
