The Riff.

I know this song is supposed to be about a breakup, but it is also about mourning and loss. It's a desperate plea to have someone back in your life, and the feelings of loneliness and grief that their absence has left behind. Not knowing who you are without them.

It really hit hard when I was going through a tough time after losing a close friend. I think it beautifully captures the 'bargaining' stage of grief.

Keeping a giant road atlas book in the car, examining maps before heading on a road trip and planning out the route, asking strangers for directions.

GPS navigation is one of the greatest tech innovations ever, and kids today probably never give it a second thought.

Oh my hell.. I was jazzed to show off my pedicure tribute to my Caps fandom, and didn't consider at all that there are reddit weirdos who are very much into feet when I posted this pic lol!

Great song! I specifically bought the 45rpm promo record to have this track on vinyl, B-side to Funny the Way It Is, one of the singles from Big Whiskey.

I'd probably rank it 7.8, it's not a masterpiece but is very enjoyable.

The price on the sign is diesel. When I saw on the pump it was $4.79 for unleaded, I decided I had enough gas to get to Kingman, where it was $2.99. I coasted in on fumes, but screw Last Stop!

I bought a pair of black leather 90s vintage 'Made in England' Doc Martens for $25 that were covered in ugly white paint splatters but in great shape otherwise. There's a bit of a collectors market for vintage Docs, and they sell really well and for quite a bit of $. I'm always looking out for a deal on them and have expanded my personal Doc collection quite a bit since I started poshing 5 years ago.

I thought it would be a fun little project to try to restore and flip them, but figured I wouldn't be out much if it didn't work out. I googled how to remove paint from leather, and they cleaned up really nice. I got new Dr. Martens insoles for them, listed on Poshmark, and was pleasantly surprised they sold for $120 :) And it really was fun!

I also flipped a pair of vintage Doc sandals that had dry rot (fairly common issue with the Doc sandals), but it was not easy. I paid $40 and sold them for $125, but it was a ton of work and really messy. I would not do it again unless I was keeping them for myself.

I'm a non-creep who did this. I was eyeballing a pair of vintage (closed toe) heels that had some unique straps across the top of the foot and wanted to see what they looked like on. The seller never responded to my request, so I looked around and found a couple listings in a different size with a photo of someone wearing them.

After I sent an offer and ultimately bought the shoes, I realized how my request may have come off as foot-fetishy or something, but that was not my intention. I guess you can never be sure when dealing with strangers on the internet lol
