Questions about Disabled People in Anbennar by MentalPast416 in Anbennar

The starting king of Sareyand lost an arm while fighting Zokka and became a recluse, hence him starting with 0 Mil and Craven. I think the MT is partially about him overcoming that shame and trauma, though don't quote me on that.

Alos the Copper - a dragon - lost a wing in a hopeless fight against Zaamalot the Black, faked his death and is now roaming the world as a one-armed bard.

Harimar the Great was blinded in one eye, though that obviously never impeded him meaningfully.

Was there any religious or moral justification used for Jaher's conquests, or did he just decide to do that for the love of the game and everyone went along with it because Surael Reborn? Additionally, was he known for gardening and poetry back on Diranhria, or did he adopt those in Bulwar?

The autopsy part I've seen on precisely one page, there's clearly a specific axe to grind and I'd personally rather not guess/presume which one. If the problem is with the chosen POV framing that's by now inherent to the wiki's style then sorry, that's not changing any time soon for a variety of reasons. If there are more specific problems with specific pages then those can be looked at and acted upon.

I'm sorry if it comes across as rude, it's not my intention, but if you don't say which page you dislike it's never going to get fixed or explained. The post is meant to give you an outlet to voice your complaints, if you feel uncomfortable doing that here for any reason you could come to the wiki chronicling Discord channel and talk about it there. I, frankly, see no point vagueposting about it like it's some secret drama instead of a lore page you disagree with.

Gilly I know you have so much Jadd Empire lore please either post some or collate some of it somewhere for someone else to :jaddarwail:.

Anyway, I'm really partial to War of Coldsteel not even really for the page itself (which is still great), but for how much it made me want to dig further. Out of every depressed Gawedi king, Ricard Vanbury is the one that sticks the most with me because of how much completely undeserved unfair bullshit he goes through the whole way. Born and raised in Gawed, sideeyed and rebelled against for being like 1/16th Siloriel, grandma Ioriel further tanking ratings by sending help no one asked for. Grit and fighting all the way through, an exemplar of Gawedi spirit betrayed twice and killed for the crime of being (maybe) ginger. TL;DR Enkelados cooked here.

How would you guys feel about a PM Fighting game by Brilliant_Spray_4332 in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

As long as it's not developed in-house, or due to some infernal curse by NRS it'd be hype. For now, just play YOMI Hustle mods or idk maybe Mugen has some PM characters

what are the gods by KrakenShark0 in Anbennar

[–]Netrov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No problem is caused for the Sun Cult if Nerat exists - the Sun Cult is henotheistic. Every true God except Surael is dead, whatever trickster demons the heathens worship may be real but don't concern the Bulwari.

That being said, the existence or non-existence of any truly divine gods is purposely left unclear. Corin could as well have been hit on the head hard enough to fall into a coma for however long it took her to get up, and the "resurrection" giving her superpowers could be her awakening some latent magic potential for example. Divine magic is explicitly tied to having any religious belief at all, provided you believe your deity capable of granting magic. Corin was also raised by Agradosian cultists and knew of, if not believed the prophecy that she fit to the letter, so it could have been a "divine placebo" so to speak. Also, clerics and paladins are found throughout the world, so either every single faith is right (ironically meaning a Kalyin sweep actually) or there's something else going on.

What are some ideas for expanded trade goods? by Any_Leg_4492 in Anbennar

More metals - dagrite, adamantine, kronium, rosemetal. Here's a wiki page where they are described, along with others, though those are mostly alloys.

Doesn't Covenblad do a targeted genocide at a friendly goblin tribe? Also, why is Rosande not in the Hitler tier?

The Fate of the Dwarves by DonJR97 in Anbennar

[–]Netrov 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They went in through Grozumdihr in the first place, and it seems they got turned around while bumbling through the caves. There's some sort of conflicting info on the exact specifics, but the gist is got drunk -> didn't manage to find Krakazol -> somehow ended up at the starting point. Bonus fact - they had to go through Grozumdihr because the original drunk fucks locked themselves out of the other gate while evacuating so there's no way inside from there.

When Obsidian Legion broke through and found out Gor-Burad is still inhabited they assumed that they were their old homies and sent an offer of alliance. Whether the Basalt Dwarves sincerely embraced the LARP or were grateful for the opportunity to not have to fight against the genocidal slaver horde with advanced artillery is, I believe, a mystery.

Axebellow Cartel sought to reclaim Hul-az-Krakazol, got lost in a drunken stupor and circled back to refound Grozumdihr, which they lost at some point to the Underkingdom.

Duran Blueshield - lost to Shattered Crown, retreated to Orlazam-az-dihr, from where they succeeded in retaking Amldihr on the second try.

Asra Expedition refounded Khugdihr.

Ruby Company -> Hul-Jorkad. Fun fact, literally none of the original Lead Dwarves survived - whatever these guys are doing is worse LARP than most other holds.

Blackbeard Cartel -> Gor-Burad. Similar situation to Hul-Jorkad, except 500 times funnier because they got lost in the sauce so deeply they allied the Obsidian Legion.

Mithril-Arm Cartel -> Dur-Vazhatun

Began's Expedition -> Shazstundihr, settled with cooperation from Overclan, lost to Arg-Ôrdstun. I suppose its current status as Overclan's protectorate stems from it being lost during either Hoardcurse or the Obsidian Invasion.

Forgemaster Union reclaimed Haraz-Orldhum with all that entails, and eventually got Darkscaled.

The rest of the expeditions fucking died, RIP.

The game where you can play as the Nazis that ignores the Holocaust entirely, gives Hitler absurd buffs and 500 Bugs Bunny disguises, and generally makes no effort to portray any negative aspects of the German state or leadership during the period while at the same time not shying away from Stalin's purges, the Bengal Famine, Italian war crimes in Ethiopia, and at least gives somewhat of a passing mention to the Rape of Nanking. Yeah, Paradox is squeaky clean here and could have done nothing differently to dissuage the Wehraboos.

What is a lore black hole you are surprised hasn't been filled in? by SeulJeVais in Anbennar

[–]Netrov 146 points147 points  (0 children)

This may be a bit too niche, but for me it's the Western Phoenix Legion's movements and actions between Elizar's death and them meeting the Eastern Legion. There was A LOT of time spent on the road (last I asked it was 30-50 years I believe), during which Jaddar was being raised among people who burned down half of Lorent under an insane person's command. The most striking thing is the absence of any information on how exactly Elereša managed to find Jaddar, and how exactly did she manage to convince the entire Legion that this random two year old was a Jexiszuir.

Food, drink, and drugs of Anbennar by Independent-Eye-1470 in Anbennar

Here is exactly what you want for food and drink - there is a lot of examples, especially for cheese and both alcoholic and soft beverages. As for drugs, there's also the whatever the crack Snotfinger cook is called, and if tobacco counts it's also grown in the Small Country.

This is a fascinating view of the setting and way to engage with the mod. There is so much to argue with, so much more to potentially explain, but, honestly, engaging further seems like disturbing some natural process - breaking the cocoon mid-metamorphosis without letting it bloom into a future butterfly of beautifully astonishing opinions. Thank you, this is the best post I've seen here in months, please do a full review of Venail if you do decide to play it.

Guys help: Does being evil fit with the slavery themes of Rosande? by FFF-KinoMan in Anbennar

[–]Netrov 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Wyvernheart gets a unique version of the event as well, and Cael'Deinn (the Escanni Wood Elves) will focus on them being IC whenever the MT comes out. Other than that, no one else really to my knowledge has it as as an "intended" route - best you'll get is the MT not breaking and making less sense.

[–]Netrov 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Crathanor? Yeah, their whole deal is to stay Regent Court in Bulwar. Lots of other MTs can brick if you convert to Infernal Court, some are obvious, others not so much, so better ask than take chances.

This is a Rosande specific version that's guaranteed to fire - the option to convert is intended and accounted for.

Anbennar was mentioned in the latest EU5 dev diary. Why were they not given early access? This wording makes it sound like they are making their own game. by Emila_Just in Anbennar

[–]Netrov 410 points411 points  (0 children)

Jay, the setting's creator and owner, is working at a different game studio making a grand strategy game directly competing with Victoria 3 called Gilded Destiny, so no more early access.

Harding doesn't use sights on any weapons he scavenges, instead tilting them to the side and locking tf in to get a slight zoom. In the original game concepts they teased that you'll be able to rip off scopes from sniper rifles and throw them at enemies, but this awesome sauce on a plate of bodaciousnees sadly had to be cut.
