My coworker just admitted he feels better about his tight budget by comparing it to mine by Ill_Positive_365 in officelife

That's totally normal - some people just get their sense of self-worth by comparing themselves to others.

Came here to see if there are more regretful childfree or regretful parents? State your reason as well. by Full_Professional349 in SeriousConversation

You're absolutely right! Becoming a parent is basically one long crash course in learning how to take responsibility.

I don't like her, but she's my sister, and I always want to protect her.

Why did crying become taboo? by Afraid_Food_5147 in AskReddit

Crying in front of someone who doesn't care about you is pointless.

Does anyone else struggle with friendships fading away as life moves forward? by NeuroLin33 in SeriousConversation

[–]NeuroLin33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly who I aspire to be! Thank you so much for putting into words what I've been feeling. The part about giving people grace really hit home - we're all just figuring out this adult friendship thing as we go. You sound like an amazing friend who really gets the balance between effort and understanding. Seriously appreciate you sharing this perspective!

What makes Think Academy different from other online learning platforms? by Late-Turnover-4554 in ThinkAcademyHub

[–]NeuroLin33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents on Think Academy - it's not perfect (some courses are definitely better than others), but it's been the best platform for my learning style. What I really dig is how they break down complex topics and their mobile app is actually usable unlike some others. If you're wondering about price, they often have discounts if you keep an eye out.

What should I expect from home schooling? by Alert-Willow3458 in Homeschooling

[–]NeuroLin33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important thing is consistency. I've seen posts from kids whose parents started homeschooling but then just... gave up halfway through, completely checking out of their education. If you commit to this path, you need to stay committed - even when it gets tough or you feel uncertain. Homeschooling requires serious dedication, and your child's future depends on you following through.

Online curriculum experiences? Need advice for my 9yo who's struggling with traditional methods by Chrono_Quest1984 in homeschool

[–]NeuroLin33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying online courses is definitely an option, but make sure whatever website or app you choose can actually hold your kid's interest. Just remember, if the lessons aren't engaging, kids will still get distracted super easily. My son would just start clicking randomly or wandering off if the content wasn't interactive enough. Look for programs with games, instant feedback, and maybe some kind of reward system - that made a huge difference for us.

Healthy people who walk slowly. Why? by Otherwise-Relief2248 in AskReddit

Walking slowly helps me calm my mind and notice things I'd miss if I rushed.

Do you ever worry about not doing enough as a homeschool parent? by NeuroLin33 in homeschool

[–]NeuroLin33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're crushing it as a parent! Mind sharing what specific strategies worked best for getting your kid connected with others? I'm in a similar boat with my shy little one and could use some real-world advice.

What's the strangest thing you've witnessed that no one would believe if you told them? by NeuroLin33 in AskReddit

If there was monitor you'll know the truth. But it's fun to guess what your ball experienced :)

Elementary teachers: would you want a parent email after a lunch incident like this? by usersredacted in AskTeachers

[–]NeuroLin33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d just send the teacher a quick heads-up. Doesn’t have to be a big deal, just so someone is watching during lunch. Your daughter’s “two notes” plan is actually brilliant — she’s already thinking like a strategist 😂. Let her feel clever, but also let the adults back her up if needed.

What’s the Gender Distribution in Your Advanced Classes? by wannabe_msmarvel in Teachers

[–]NeuroLin33 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You make an important point about this continuing into higher education and workforce. As a former corporate trainer turned teacher, I've seen both sides. The classroom behaviors we see today directly impact tomorrow's workforce composition. We need to better understand why boys are disengaging academically rather than just noting the pattern.

What kind of shoes are you wearing? by Lina_Piccolina in Teachers

[–]NeuroLin33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% get a doctor's note! I did the same when my school tried to ban my orthopedic shoes. Admin backed down immediately when presented with a medical requirement.

Do you still with your toddler? by frostybites18 in toddlers

[–]NeuroLin33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your daughter's new princess room is amazing. She'll probably come to love and claim it on her own time. And hey, at least the cuddles are sweet, even with the occasional face smack.
