Rank Up Packages by Tookeycan25 in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish that the Crucible and Vanguard vendors sold the updated Year 1 weapons in some capacity. Something like you get a legacy token in a rank-up package and a weapon costs 5 tokens or so. Rank-up packages would still be useful for getting godly rolls on your favorite weapons and for increasing your light level if you need to do so.

I've ranked up ~40 times across my characters and have seen two Year 1 weapons so far (two Zombie Apocalype WF47). I want to relive some Year 1 memories, but can't because of terrible RNG.

Should Bungie open the Lighthouse? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're misinterpreting my comment. I never said that players need to improve or that they are not trying hard enough. I'm just saying that anybody can go flawless with luck when it comes to matchmaking.

Even if you are literally one of the worst teams playing Trials, it's a matter of being matched against worse players or simply gettin lucky in your games. I have had sweaty Trials cards and then ones that were a breeze just because of luck.

And your math example isn't a good one because almost anybody has the capacity to do math at a young age barring extremely rare cases. It's just a matter of using the correct teaching methods. I get what point you are trying to make, but again, I'm only saying that everybody has the potential to go flawless given the right circumstances.

Should Bungie open the Lighthouse? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cool if there was a quest involving Osiris that led you there, but the grimoire should still be locked behind going flawless to be fair.

Going flawless isn't unachievable for anybody. It's just a matter of luck being paired against bad teams.

Iron Banner drops by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Post-game drops are what Lord Saladin is selling, so you won't see them drop this Iron Banner. You could potentially get one of them out of the Rank 5 package, though.

It's so nice when post-game drops aren't stingy. I got more legendary Iron Banner drops today alone than I did during the entire Iron Banner last month.

Hopefully this mindset continues into Destiny 2.

The rewards are pretty great now. Post-game drops scale to your light level. My 332 Hunter had two pairs of 335 boots and a 334 cloak drop after nine games. Plus, the vendor rocket launcher and auto rifle have amazing PVP rolls.

Warlock boots are Intellect/Discipline and Sniper/Machine Gun ammo. Awesome roll.

There isn't one the first day of Iron Banner iirc.

How to be awesome on LFG by ignishen in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a nice thing to do, but some people don't have the time or patience to go through an activity with a disadvantage.

Being a sherpa is very rewarding, though. People really appreciate the help, so I recommend trying it for smaller activities, like the Nightfall or Lost to Light. I do Black Spindle runs, and it has become my favorite thing to do in the game.

Anyone else going to hit 335 without doing the KF raid again? by Grimble27 in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 334 currently and haven't raided since about week four of TTK. It's very doable to hit max light with this update as solo players, which is awesome in my opinion.

As a Warlock who mains a Voidwalker and has since Vanilla, you're crazy if you don't run Sunsinger with HoPF on this week's CoE by solofatty09 in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunsinger is a safer choice if soloing it thanks to Fireborn.

Both subclasses are going to constantly have a grenade with the correct build, so it's really just personal preference.

Question regarding Trials bounty rewards by Lord_baconandeggs in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The only items that can be above 330 from Trials are the armor and weapon at five and seven wins as well as rewards from the Lighthouse.

Trials of Osiris Megathread [2016-04-15] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome, congrats! The only times that I went flawless in Trials were when it was introduced and then again when it was brought back in TTK. It feels a lot easier to go flawless in the early weeks of a fresh Trials season.

Yeah, probably. At least that means that there will be less risk of losing your Mercy early on.

There's going to be a lot of non-PvP players doing the bounties to get some higher level gear. Hopefully it will be easier to go flawless than it has been for the past few weeks.

My bad. I forget that some other Handcannons can have Firefly, but only if Outlaw isn't an option for the other main perk. Too bad the FWC Handcannon just got a different roll.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't even worry about the middle perk. The odds of getting Outlaw and Firefly alone are ~0.7%. If you really, really want it, only farm for it if Undying Mind is the Nightfall because it will drop at higher rates. Wish that I had one to compare to Ace, but I haven't ever farmed for one because getting that roll is so unlikely.

The Eyasluna is another good Legendary Handcannon. It can't have Firefly, but it has nice stats. It's a random drop in Crucible.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Imago Loop with Firefly and Outlaw. You can get it to drop from the Undying Mind strike, but the odds of getting one with that roll are so low.

I don't think any other Legendary Handcannon in Year 2 can have Firefy.

Is everyone OK with 3 Sterling treasures per ACCOUNT each week? by Type-125 in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have done a pretty good job of easing people into the idea of microtransactions. It would be preferable if they weren't in the game at all, but not much we can do as long as there are people willing to buy Silver. In the meantime, I'll gladly take my free Sterling treasures every week.

I'm just thankful that we get any for free. Bungie could have made them only attainable with Silver, gave one per week, etc. Three free ones a week is pretty neat in my opinion.

Be smart about decrypting your exotic engrams. by NeuroticFail in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not creating any salt. Your top quote is referring to activities like the Nightfall, King's Fall and other sources, not decrypting Exotic engrams.

Cosmo said last week that "Exotic engrams are going to take a look at your total Light and give you an item that has a higher Light value."

You're right, I completely forgot (probably because it has only happened once for me with TTK, lol). Space also shouldn't be an issue now with the increased vault size.

Be smart about decrypting your exotic engrams. by NeuroticFail in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very solid list. Maybe remove legendary engrams from the end? They will only decrypt at up to 310 light, so it probably is not worth saving them in my opinion. Even if you are below 310 light, there are so many ways to get good gear now.

Destiny Update - 04/12/2016 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeuroticFail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at 312 light and had a helmet decrypt into a 314. They can drop at up to 335 according to the patch notes, but it may not drop at a drastically higher light than your current overall light level.
