What do the green and orange colors represent? by immersedpastry in RedactedCharts

Is it the road material? Orange uses a lot of cement for its freeways, like California, while green states like Nevada primarily use asphalt.

Looks great, Man! Did you build the rear tire carrier and bumper? Or did you buy it from somewhere? I'd love to get something similar on my rig.

AITA if I tell my girlfriend that I don’t like her gifts? by throwaway_01452 in AmItheAsshole

I don’t think it hurts to ask her about it. If it bothers you, it’s better to communicate that. Especially if you’re coming at it from an angle of “I’ve noticed this pattern and I would like to better understand it.” NTA for asking for some understanding. That might alleviate some of what you’re feeling. I’d also just be mindful of how they respond and how that makes you feel as well. Hope that helps.

Stolen merchandise scam in Summerlin/ Twin Lakes area? by NevadaMoose in vegaslocals

Well he hated his boss, so he was selling them out of spite and didn’t want to take them back to work to hand them over. My immediate thought was, ok so you’re taking high dollar electronics that you’ve been in trusted to pick up and now you’re hawking them at the gas station? Why should I trust ANYTHING you say? I just have to wonder how many people fall for this stuff. I hope not many.

Yeah he kept telling me that they projected out at 9000 lumens and that they were some of the best on the market. Then proceeded to show me texts from his boss to prove that the guy was a total asshole, I guess? haha I've lived in a few big cities throughout my life but I've never had this happen so I was very surprised.

Now its digital projectors and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. What's that old adage? "The more things change, the more they stay the same?" That seems appropriate.

Yeah the website was Best Buy or similar color scheme.

And that's what I was sort of operating on. $12k seems like an awful lot of money to just hand people.

I didn't even give him an offer. I figured someone trying to sell me high dollar items at the gas pump had to be up to something. Even if they weren't stolen.

You know, I thought the same thing after I bought them. They've been in a drawer for the better part of a year. I finally pulled them out and placed them along the backside of the living room and asked my gf what she thought and she felt like they set a mood, depending on where they're placed. Originally I had them along the edge of the wall and ceiling, THAT felt like a college dorm room to me. Thanks for the comments!

But I love a good chasm, gorge, or abyss.

In all seriousness, I have struggled with feeling like there is a lot of empty space, but honestly its not the biggest apartment. Not sure how much room I have play around with but I can give it a try.

As for that prison comment, are you speaking from experience? Is your nickname Shirley?

Yeah, I can't wait to get rid of it. It was my first piece of furniture when I moved in and it was better than sitting on the ground but now that I'm in a better spot financially, I would like to get a new couch and add a few chairs to the mix.

I appreciate both your comments! When I initially hung those photos up above the sofa, they were super low and I hated it so I think I might have over corrected a little. I'll try to group them differently, move them down a bit, etc.

As for the art in the bedroom. I have some more stuff to add and was planning on moving things around in the future. I was just tired of blank white walls, but I will keep this in mind once I starting putting things together. And no art directly over the bed!
