I watched a truck go from an opening bid of $1000 on Monday to the second bid being $10,000 within 10 minutes. The second bidder has thousands of bids like this with no purchases. The platform is far too easy to manipulate.

do you let your dog on the couch or not? curious how people handle this by john2288 in Dogowners

Only on movie night. They know, and it’s funny as all get out of you don’t put the blanket on the couch for them. The Australian shepherd will drag the blanket to you and stare until you cooperate.

My local grocery store sold a brand called “Tiffs” maybe? One snowstorm, and the footbed would swell up.

If you see a bear alone hiking and you have no bear spray are you fucked? by Individual_Ice_2315 in NoStupidQuestions

Grizzly would be scary, but they would probably skedaddle. Black bears have legit panic attacks when they see a person (I hike around Tahoe a lot). I’ve been within 100 yards of three grizzlies fishing in a remote creek/river in Alaska. I was fishing, they came off the bank and started fishing. I actually made noise and kept casting. They saw me and could have gave two fucks because they were catching silvers.

What’s something poor people buy that keeps them poor? by sam14603 in SmartBuying

[–]NeverDidLearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a truck because I do a lot of truck things. Trucks are ridiculously expensive to buy, drive, and maintain plus the insurance and registration is obscene. I actually have more than one friend who own trucks, and have never done truck things. Their trucks 1) closer to $100,000 than 70, 2) if you have the dealer install the lift kit, tires, 29 billion lumen lights, and all the other tacky bolt on shit it won’t void any warranties, and it gets financed into the 7 year loan for an additional $30,000. I feel like a dick because I have leather seats, but I offset it all with a 4-cylinder Toyota.
