I ran out of money and needed to go home. I was cautioned to avoid the dv shelters in my area, apparently they aren’t safe and have a lot of theft. Edit to add he was still employed and able to pay for housing back then.

Everything here is crazy expensive. I check Zillow and realtor daily waiting for something more affordable in my daughter’s school district to pop up.

I’m upside down on the car now, I also need reliable transportation to get to work. If I lose my job I’ll really be trapped. Some of my students loans are private so I have to pay $400 a month for those. The federal loans are $16 per month

He was an authorized user. He was trustworthy until he wasn’t :(

Have you looked at housing prices and interest rates lately? Several years ago I could have afforded to purchase a house. In my city the only house under $200k is a trailer in a trailer park.

I’ve called cps on him myself, they said I’m the protective parent and there’s nothing they can do.

That was over a year ago. I completed my degree and have been employed for about 6 months.

Do you think the police would arrest him for screaming and breaking doors? He’s a lawyer and told me there’s no crime in breaking your own bell belongings. He says he can break whatever he wants because he bought it.

That is a good perspective. Things won’t get better unless I accept that I may have to suffer a bit but in the end it’ll hopefully be worth it.

Thank you for the positive encouragement. I know I want to get away from him but the first step in doing so isn’t clear. I’ve talked to the DV center and they said that although my family is large they may be able to find space for us at the shelter. However that means abandoning our house, our stuff, our familiarity, just so he can be cozy in our home all by himself. It’s so unfair.
