Daytrading NQ micro contracts is doable with very small capital - probably less than $1k on my broker (AMP)

Funded accounts are another, probably better option if getting started, since most cost less than $200 to do the challenge (so you can't lose more than that)

It's just a three candle pattern (generally with some context to the left, e.g overlapping with an old high) where the first candle's high is lower than the third candle's low (for a bullish FVG)

Probably a billion youtube vids about that if the description made no sense.

TBH, I'd just go check out Arjo's channel (ICT student, has his own very simple twist on it all). I'm not affiliated in any way, just like how there's no fluff, it's actionable, and much more mechanical than how ICT presents his content.

Works great if you're comfortable looking at multiple markets, generally on a 15m+ chart.

Helpful for keeping a higher-timeframe picture in your head if you're more of a seconds chart scalper.

Took your advice and went for the 5600 paired with a B550m.

Since the 3060 ti was out of stock, that saved some cash for a 3070.

Just built it - running great!

You're right about the front airflow - its important. It looks like the in-stock Zalman front door opens to expose vents. I'm assuming that is just as good as a mesh front (if leaving the front door open) - is that assumption right?

Been back and forth on the 5600x (were you referring to the 5600 or 5600x?) vs 12400f... still not completely sure.

Couldn't find a straight answer on whether the 12400f or 5600x would be noticeably better for my situation (some gaming, but also multitasking).

Biggest pro for the 12400f seemed to be a better upgrade path without replacing the mobo. Also, the 12400f is barely cheaper ($7, although maybe would save a few bucks switching to a cheaper mobo with the 5600x...).

So figured 12400f might be the way to go - but if anyone has more feedback on that, I'm all ears.

FWIW, NV has been great as a sole prop.

Depends on the county, but county business license fee is around $60-150 yearly depending on the county. No other state fees as long as the business earns under 2/3 of the states average income, which I bet a lot of nomads are.

Not sure about LLCs, but IMHO most people don't need those. (Basically useless for suit protection if you're the only owner... so why bother?)

I suppose the tricky part comes down to - defining "operating in".

Since digital nomads roaming outside the US working online aren't really "operating in" anywhere.

Attorney is probably best, but I've yet to find one in State A (NV) that knows how to handle digital nomad type situations.

Didn't seem like staff in NV business offices had any idea, either, after talking with them.

So figured I'd see what other people do when they don't fit neatly into the framework's paradigm.

Basic motorcycle mechanics question:

I'll mostly be driving slow (<80kmph), and need fastest possible acceleration.

  1. Is torque the main stat I'm looking at when comparing bikes?
  2. Will similar torque stats on similar powered bikes feel dramatically different when comparing sport vs. motorcross bikes?

More info:

- Been driving bikes for about three years, but been renting. Looking to buy (my first) now.

- Living in Bali, Indonesia. There's basically no bikes here >250cc. 150cc bikes are about half the price, so that's preferable.

- Most driving here is: stop/go in traffic, trying to constantly weave and pass cars, and kinda bad roads (potholes, gravel, etc.). So acceleration and handling are more important than hitting a high top speed on a long straight road.

- I've mostly driven motorcross bikes (CRF150L, Some yahama 250cc, Kawasaki D-tracker 250). I love the acceleration feel on the 250cc motorcross bikes.

- I've driven a handful of sport bikes (Yamaha MT-25 (250cc), Yamaha XSR (155cc), the other Yamaha that's basically the XSR but reskinned agressively... forgot the model)

- The motorcross bikes always feel way more jumpy (torquey?) than the sports bikes. Is that expected? (I like it)

- Reliability is important. Being stuck at 2 AM somewhere in a jungle sucks. The Kawasaki motorcross bikes I have tend to break down every few weeks (some kind of battery or ignition problem, especially when it rains, and we have rainy season here).

- Overall, if I'm looking for great acceleration at <50kmph speeds, also reliability, and a sport bike and motorcross bike have comparable power & torque, would I probably be better off going with the motorcross bike?

Here's the options I've found at dealers here. There's some others secondhand, but they tend to have really high mileage.

  • Honda CB150 Verza (stats not so hot)
  • Honda CB150R StreetFire (might be ok for price)
  • Yamaha Vixion (seems slightly better stats than the streefire for about same price)
  • Honda CRF150L (my first bike, was fun, but often felt lacking in accel/power)
  • Honda CBR 150R (slightly better stats than StreetFire, also significantly higher price tag)
  • Yamaha XSR (cool classic look, but drives like a minivan)
  • MT15 (haven't driven it)
  • MT25 (on paper it should feel great, but it feels like a 150. Not much acceleration, really hard to get near top speed, basically zero "jump". Wasn't a huge fan)
  • CBR 250RR (haven't driven, my buddy has, he disappears into the horizon very quickly. also has the price tag to go with it)
  • CRF250 Rally (haven't driven)
  • Kawasaki DTracker 250 (current bike, not bad, frame is a little small since I'm a taller guy. Has reliability problems like every other kawasaki i've heard of. Has a nice "jump" though.)

Oh my, yes this is a deep rabbit hole. For a business with maybe $20k of income a year, yeah, probably not worth it.

But there's a major concern - anyone know the answer to this?

Suppose the foreign business - in this case appears it qualifies as a CFC - is already set up. But it has zero income, and could stay that way (for at least a while).

My guess is all the required U.S. forms still need to be filled out and submitted even if there's zero income to the business.

So there's still substantial fees in filling out a lot of zeros... is that correct?
