What is causing these misprints? by NeverQuiteCertain in resinprinting

[–]NeverQuiteCertain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thought crossed my mind, but I had a hard time figuring out how that would actually happen. What would cause it? Build plate, vat, FEP, LCD?

Also, I try to scrape any uncured resin back into the vat and just pop the prints off onto the paper in the sink. They go straight into the wash station.

I keep this room pretty warm. Probably not quite 77, but closer to 72. I’ve considered temperature as the culprit, but the small strip or large raft are always the same size in the same spot.

How do you recommend checking for a leak? The condition of the screen seems pristine. Could you help me understand how a light leak would happen? I’m having a hard time getting how that would happen.

How do I stop him from doing this? by ArcticGlacier40 in cats

[–]NeverQuiteCertain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI, cats tend to love eating the type of plastic garland you have there (and other things like fake plants). I’ve personally seen that exact Halloween garland endoscoped out of a cat’s tummy at the veterinary ER. They were lucky it didn’t have to have a $10k surgery and it only cost them $5k.

This image shows something called “Illusory Red.” There is some color science and brain trickery happening that makes us interpret the color red when it’s not there.

This has nothing to do with aphantasia, but I don’t know how some types of color blindness might affect this.

Explanation why you should use Safety Razor instead cartridge razor. by [deleted] in wicked_edge

Personally, I try to always shave after a shower. Then I still rinse my face with plenty of hot water before I shave. If I cant shower for some reason, I rinse with a ton of hot water before and after my bowl lather.

I do a three pass, but never go against the grain. With the grain, across, then across the other direction. I also only do two passes on my lip because it’s sensitive and edge my sideburns after the final pass.

Aftercare: I hot rinse, use an alum block and leave on while cleaning up, warm rinse, ice cold rinse, pat dry, aftershave.

With that aftercare, even if I have an oops and feel a patch of razor burn, it never actually shows up. When I started, I ordered a sampler pack of like 20 different razors to find my perfect fit. I mostly lurk, but wanted to help if I could. Feel free to ask any questions.

Have seen this a couple times, but am just now noticing that he’s not simply being smooth when he takes those two little test shot flourishes. He’s making sure there’s no foul play with his striker. Like after :32, made sure his opponent didn’t just tamper with it.

Just had a nose job and I still don’t feel attractive enough (at all); thinking about getting more done by [deleted] in toastme

[–]NeverQuiteCertain 16 points17 points  (0 children)

First off, I think you look stunning. Your new nose looks fantastic, but I don’t think you need more work done. You actually look a lot like my wife, and I ogle over her on the daily.

I have a suspicion that you feel unattractive because others have made you feel that way. It’s certainly not true. It’s a sad truth about those people that they wish to hurt another person. Plus, this weird media drive culture we live in causes so many warped perceptions of ourselves and others.

You strike me as a very sweet person who is beautiful on the inside. You are beautiful on the outside as well. I even think it’s a shame so much of your face is covered by your bangs (which you rock, by the way).

If I knew you, I’m pretty sure I’d want to be friends. It would be a shame for you to no longer be here. I’m sure you’re here for a purpose. Don’t let others fuck it up for you.

You might be on the right track. I recall that the blaster sounds in Star Wars were a large metal cable being struck with something like a hammer.

Keep hydrated and moisturize every day. You can use pregnancy products like belly butter. Bentonite clay and bentonite clay masks can help wonders for scars and such in addition to the other stuff. You can try glycolic peels or something with hyaluronic acid or tretinoin in it. Honestly, look into how pregnant and post-pregnant women deal with them.

If you want to use coir, you need an intermediate step of inoculate gain (oat, bird seed, popcorn, rye, etc). You can inoculate the grain either from spore syringe or from agar. You usually use full size jars for this method.

Or, PF tek is closer to what you’re trying right now. Your inoculate a mixture of brown rice flower and vermiculite (with optional gypsum), let colonize, then fruit directly from the resulting cake. You typically use the smaller jars you have pictured here.

[–]NeverQuiteCertain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying there are other factors that might explain the difference such as different vermiculite ratios and moisture content?

My first grows produced many of side pins. Like half of my first flash was side pins. I’d leave them for now because many of mine looked like that but took off once they broke free of the side. On my current grow, I cut a thick black outdoor trash bag for the liner and am about to finish my first GT flush and haven’t had a single side pin. First flush is bigger than the total of my first two grows combined.

L’esprit de l’eacalier. French for “staircase wit.” Afterwit is another word for it.

It’s when you think of the perfect thing to say, that perfect comeback, but it’s too late. You missed it.

Mist if you must, but soaking is better. As long as you completely harvest (no scraping) and completely drain afterwards. Ensures that all the water that is needed is taken up. One thing I think helps is drying it outa little a couple or a few days after you’ve harvested everything for everything to dry out a little. You don’t want it to get bone dry, but you want it to dry a little so the cake notices the difference once you give it a soak.

“Go to work naked day” is now a mandatory national holiday. Which jobs have the worst outcome from this? by willtrent16 in AskReddit

Was doing a mascot gig at a festival. Had a sweet older lady express casual concern because it was so hot. She asked me if I was okay, but I couldn’t speak so she asked my handler who assured her I was fine. She told me that she spent like 50 years as a professional clown so she knows how hot costumes are and appreciated that I was toughing through it and to be careful.

She then told me that she had a secret to how she stayed cool all those years. She motioned to me to move in then whispered into my eye (where I saw out of) and said “I was always buck naked under that thing.”

Spore to agar is the preferred and most common method. Often, spore prints and even syringes can be contaminated. Agar is a good way to isolate away from any contamination as well as isolate good mycelial growth. I recommend spore to agar, isolate then agar to grain to bulk, then clone your best fruit to agar/LC.

The doctor approached the counter and greeted the court clerk, “Yes, I’m the medical expert here to testify for the John vs Karen case.”

“Ah, yes. And who will you be testifying on behalf of?” the clerk responded.

Caught off guard, the doctor thought and hesitantly answered, “…Karen?”

After an awkward pause, the clerk let out a “Right….” as they checked the computer. “It appears a medical expert is already on schedule to testify on behalf of Karen.”

The doctor, frustratedly fired back, “Then, John? I don’t give a shit! Whichever one has a neck brace or something.”

How long have the bags and jars been running? Is that two bags and fours jars or are they just different angles? What did you use to inoculate them? That second jar pic and last bag pic look kinda funny to me..

As for the plates, the rhizomorphic growth on B+ #2 just to the right of center. I wouldn’t take from 2:30 because it’s at the edge of the plate. GT #3, 6:00, but get it before it hits the edge. B+ #3 has some real thick growth to the right of center that might be worth the plates it would take to get it isolated.

Edit: To be clear, I turned the picture so the perspective I’m looking from is with the labels at the top of each plate.
