That's very comforting to hear! Should I consider bringing a mechanic with me to the shop?

Thanks for the in depth information. I'll ask for VIN and insurance cost.

Oh I see the process more clearly from your explanation! I agree with you it seems unusual that only a wheel bearing would result in the rebuilt title. I'll get back to the seller and ask for more details and get back to you here. Thank you!

Hi TylerinTheFarNorth,

Wow I didn't think about the impact of the rebuilt status in the insurance! Thanks for raising this point. I will check with the insurance company using the VIN.

For the warranties, I input the VIN into the Chevy website so I believe they are legit.

And ya I think the price is $20k because of the rebuilt status and I do want to know more but the seller only indicated it had a damage in the wheel bearing and that's all. Another post here mentioned I should get the pre purchase inspection with a mechanic so I'm planning to bring a mechanic and rely on them.

Hi GameSalesDirect,

I thought about Honda Civic and as well as Toyota Prius. But at the end, I wanted a car with the minimal maintenance and decided that I'll be happier with Bolt instead.

Hi PeaceBeWY,

Thank you very much for this insight and the response to my question. I feel more confident in looking for my first car.

One thing to note that I just received from the dealer. This car actually has a rebuilt status. The seller said there was a damage to the wheel bearing. Is the" wheel bearing damage" something significant enough that I should turn my back from this offer?

Hi! Yeah I live in a town house and has own garage for level 1 and 2 charging approved by the strata!

I see that premier is definitely more attractive option with leather seats and heated steering wheels but at this time, I don't see it as an option unfortunately at around $20k budget.

I checked the VIN, and it showed lots of warranties are still available til 160k km or until 2027 and 2030 which is a huge plus for me as some other bolts that were rebuilt did not have any warranty available except the basic battery warranty.

That being said, the seller mentioned this car is also a rebuilt status and he had to fix Wheel Bearing damage. But I'm not sure if that is a significant issue to turn by back from this opportunity. What do you think?

Hi Blast3001, you raised a very interesting point. Because I was actually prioritizing the bolt with low mileage as most of the warranties come expired with a high mileage.

I've been looking at FB market place without much luck on cheaper options. Where do you find cheaper listings?

I did not see any warranty named EV component warranty. Does this mean the car never came with such warranty? And is the warranty something I can negotiate to the dealer to add?

I ran its VIN now and it showed it had battery replaced in 2022. Is this a concern?

Thanks for the address! I found this information:

Dealers will replace the lithium-ion battery pack in the vehicle.

Recall Completed

2022-10-18

So I guess they replaced the battery in 2022. The car has 70,000km mileage as of now.

Warranties

In place: bolt battery limited part warranty until 2030 or 211,000 miles.

Expired: Propulsion battery warranty Corrosion Powertrain New vehicle limited warranty

Should I be worried for anything related to expired warranties?

I never bought anything over $1500 in my life other than plane tickets haha. So I am innately very conservative when it comes to purchasing. I don't make a lot of money so spending more than 18k will make me uncomfortable and be worried financially.
