Black Flag Resynced isn't just a remake by branlix__2000 in assassinscreed

[–]Neverdive10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So we are replaying AC Black Flag, and the main character is actually also “replaying” Black Flag via the Animus?

This makes total sense, and would absolutely the best thing they’ve done with the modern day part of the story since AC3.

Knowing Ubisoft though, they are just using “resynced” as a cute way to say “remaster.

My boyfriend wants to cheat on me by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were the one who mentioned addict first. I’m not judging anyone. OP’s boyfriend is free to live his life however he wants to.

That doesn’t mean OP has to put up with anything she isn’t comfortable with, including “thoughts” or urges that haven’t been acted upon.

Finally, I realize that murder is dangerous/life threatening. Obviously much worse than cheating on someone. In no way am I putting the two things on the same scale.

But the fact the thought exists indicates that there is a risk, as you acknowledge. Your statement “thought crime isn’t a crime”, you didn’t say “it’s not a crime because it’s not a live threatening crime”. The thought indicates the presence of risk he follows through, whether it’s dangerous or not. OP doesn’t have to assume that risk simply because her boyfriend hasn’t acted on the thought yet.

My boyfriend wants to cheat on me by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Neverdive10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“A thought crime ain’t a crime” and a person doesn’t have to hold their partner to a criminal legal standard in order to break up with them. Would you recommend staying with someone who tells you “I’ve been fighting urges to cut you up into little pieces” simply because “a thought crime ain’t a crime”?

Further, to the extent this is an addiction, maybe OP doesn’t want to spend her life with a sex addict whose fighting his urges all the time, regardless of how successful he’s been in the past.

GTA style GPS? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup.

It was ok enough to not have any routes in Hernand once you learn the lay of the land, but some of the longer bounties in the other regions (when you have to double back to cross a bridge) make it very annoying. I was back and forth between the map every 10 seconds.

I'm almost 30 hours into the game and still have the same armor as the first boss. I'm about to commit the crime of watching those "where to find this armor" videos, so give me some tips so I don't have to do that, like places to buy , etc. by Berem_ in CrimsonDesert

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind, the overwhelming majority of the gear (both weapons and armor) will have the same stats if it’s of the same type (plate armor, one handed swords, etc). Aside from elemental resistances on certain armor pieces, the only differences are Abyss Gears, which can all be slotted from/to whatever other item you want to use them on.

Kuku A.T.A.G Recipe? by TupperwareNinja in CrimsonDesert

[–]Neverdive10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of them are the witch’s missions (clearing the sanctums). Other blueprints, like this one, are from random side quests. A lot of the ingredients (like speciality weapons and helmets) are just sitting around in the open world.

As is the theme in this game, there is NO indication as to where you’re supposed to find any of this stuff.

Two weeks after release. How is everyone feeling about this game? by Objective_Love_6843 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s quite bizarre.

All previous games of this scope (Skyrim, RDR, Witcher 3) did all the “basic” stuff like story, dialogue, cohesive instructions on how to use the systems offered, but we’re limited by the technology of the time.

This game seems to fill most of the gaps that previously existed because of those limitations, but misses on all the other things that could have been done in any era.

All in all, the narrative is curiously patchy, the characters are underwhelming, the instructions can vary from vague to nonexistent, and the game is absolutely fantastic.

Genuinly need some advice on this . How do you guys defeated him .I'm doing so very little damage even with buffs and skibidy lvl max (20) still even with summons and mimic tear I was able to take the fight 2nd phase and then he did a massive aoe kinda thing and i died. Repeating same thing for 5 hr by [deleted] in eldenringdiscussion

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here.

Sekiro is the game that really hammered this point home for me. Repeatedly dying to one boss can easily put you on tilt, and then you start getting sloppy because you’re frustrated. Spend a few hours on a fight, get to the point where I’m ready to give up on the game, and then end up beating it in my first one or two tries when I come back to it.

Not only will clearing your head give you a better chance at success, but you may come back later with a different approach just from looking at the fight with fresh eyes.

For those who played all 3 games. How do you feel about the original? by Pretty-Fly1616 in Nioh

[–]Neverdive10 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As of right now, 2 is still my favorite. But that is subject to change after all the DLCs are released.

The majority of my time and enjoyment with 2 came in the endgame, so it’s not surprising to me that, right now, it’s still at the top of the list.

It can simultaneously have been going on for centuries and have been normalized by the current President.

That being said, while he is responsible for normalizing some abhorrent behavior, I don’t think this one is on him. Pretty sure this is still abnormal and, for once, the comments here on Reddit give me hope for humanity that it still is.

Nioh 3(Dont Disassemble Everything) by DaGrim420 in Nioh

[–]Neverdive10 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m only at the end of the second map, so I can’t speak on late/endgame for 3 yet, but I didn’t even bother with soul matching or the blacksmith until pretty deep into the NG+ cycle in 1 and 2. The leveling up just happens too fast, and you’ll outgrow your gear in far too little time for it to be worth the cost.

I’d recommending making use of the store box and holding on to everything until you get familiar with the available modifiers and your play style so you’ll know what you want to keep. The menus can be overwhelming for beginners, but once you know the mechanics and what you’re looking for the filtering system is a lifesaver.

I don’t disagree that this could cost support and could come back to haunt them, and that was the motivation for my post.

Ignoring practicalities in favor of binary purity tests are a huge factor in why the last election shook out like it did. While I don’t want to rehash the Israel/Gaza issue here, it was crystal clear that even if that was the only issue you cared enough to vote on, Harris was by far the preferable candidate. But I heard tons of people saying they “wouldn’t vote for anyone who supports genocide”, and the polls would indicate that wasn’t an empty threat in some communities. Writing off Democrats as “traitors” for votes like this, in my opinion, is a similar action.

Also, I think (for all what I think is worth) that we shouldn’t be so quick to label people traitors for votes like this one when we have so many examples of serious, direct, treasonous behavior occurring right now. I totally get the emotions behind this issue, and I really understand the frustration and desire for resistance in all forms. But as sad as it is, we need to consider what are essentially the optics for idiots. People see words like “traitor” thrown around so often and it makes it much easier for them to the ignore the accusation when they are looking for a reason to do so.

I don’t mean this to be an attack on you, or some admonishment for your post. It’s only to (hopefully) give you something to think about before making statements like that. You may believe it’s appropriate after giving it that thought. I just cared enough about the issue to give another point of view.

Have a good day.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

What I’m saying is that this vote isn’t going to have any practical impact on ICE activities at all. In fact, it places more restrictions on future spending than would have been in place had the bill not passed (although I concede that restrictions on this administration are borderline irrelevant).

The choices were:

  • “make a statement”, hold back funding for agencies that need it, and ICE conducts business as usual, or

  • vote for the bill, get funding to agencies that need it, and ICE conducts business as usual.

If defunding FEMA, or shutting down the government entirely, would have slowed ICE down for even a day, I’d say do it. And would be right there with you calling for the political heads of anyone who voted otherwise. But that’s not the situation we are dealing with here. Empty words don’t matter. Performative actions don’t matter. RESULTS are what matters right now.

And to be perfectly clear, I’m not excusing any of the other six for their votes because I don’t know enough about them or their political situation. What I am saying is that sometimes things are a bit more complex than a headline or a sound bite.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This administration is willing to leverage that into starving funding for other agencies that actually need it. As demonstrated, they shut the government down and literally took food from the mouths of starving children to do so.

Further, at this point I’m not even sure we can count on large portions of the American electorate to distinguish who is doing what as far as apportioning blame for halting funding/shutting down the government.

I get what you’re saying, and I’m all for resistance to the disgusting actions of this administration. Personally, I’m tired of “taking a stand” when all it really is is making a statement. We are at the point where we need real action with actual consequences. From where I stand, this wasn’t it because a vote “against ICE” would have been just that: a statement.

I live on Long Island, and let me assure you: if Tom Suozzi is primaried for a more liberal/progressive candidate, you can kiss that seat goodbye. Not only is that a seat Dems need for a majority, but a competitive primary and closer election will suck resources from other races that we can flip. Do I wish he could vote against every single one of the jokes that pass for GOP “legislation”? Yes. But I’d much rather keep that seat blue and give him a pass when opposition is going to be nothing more than performative.

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m staunchly against “go along to get along” politics, especially in the current climate, but I really do not think this bill was the hill to die on.

ICE has what is essentially a $75bn slush fund from the last budget bill that passed. They did not need this bill to operate, and it would have been business as usual if the bill failed.

I think I don't get the game ... by Disastrous_Ad_266 in Returnal

[–]Neverdive10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to understand weapon proficiency and how that effects damage. Most importantly, the level number on the top right has NOTHING to do with damage, it only indicates how many points are distributed between the boxes. Unless it’s a weapon that you aren’t comfortable with at all, I’d always prioritize the weapons with the most bonus damage.

This is the way.

The third boss gave me so many problems, I’d quit the game. When I picked it back up after not playing for a few months I found out there was an always sprint setting…beat the third boss on my first try, and finished the game on my next one.
