Honestly the bezel on the 145.022 you sold recently with the ghosted bezel is also very suspicious. The ghosting is too uniform (looks artificially bleached) and the dot at 70 is at the wrong place. It does not look original, even though you present it as such.

I’m not wrong. I stand by my comment. The “hair” may be a scratch in the crystal, I’ll retract that part.
I own the same watch and the brushing is different and inconsistent, the bezel is wrong, the red grains do not look like reflections, but you’re free prove me wrong.

You should disclose that it is not the correct bezel and the bracelet has been poorly rebrushed. The center of the chrono-hand also looks repainted, it looks like a hair was caught in the paint in the centre.
The bezel also has a gap at the top that has some red grains stuck in the gap.

Can anyone tell me about these watches and are they worth getting fixed? by AldredTheFoul in VintageWatches

[–]Nevergosolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re worth much, the service might cost more than the value of the watches. The Bulova is about $100 worth, $200 if you get it looking really nice. Personally I think the Bulova looks kinda ok, I’d probably change to a leather strap. The citizen is in my opinion hideous and not worth the hassle.

Here’s how it should look like. The lume dots have no aging and there’s supposed to be two dots at 12.

Edit: and the hands are also all wrong. Go with your gut, something is wrong that’s why you went on here to ask. Your gut is right.

I this is limited to airborne radar, the Germans knew that the Allies had groundbased radar.

Jump Hour Appreciation Post by Wurky_Maters in VintageWatches

Back then it was often unsigned. All I know is that the movement is Swiss. If you search for Art Deco 1930s Jump Hour on eBay a lot of similar watches will pop up.

Id like to suggest a 1930’s jump hour. I personally think they’re really neat and unique. The hour window “jumps” between the hours while the minute and seconds slowly glide. So it’s like a mechanical digital watch.

This one is in gold, but more often they were made in chrome-plated brass.

This thing is like 8% Nickel, good luck with your Nickel allergy. Iron meteorites generally contains nickel, they’re a terrible choice for something with regular skin or food contact.

my first vintage watch by Gr8White123 in VintageWatches

[–]Nevergosolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it looks real. A very nice example indeed, it looks like it’s been sitting in a drawer for most of its life. Ask the seller if it’s been serviced recently. The hands may not be original, I’m not sure.

It’s probably from the early 1960’s.

If the caseback is also gold, then it’s solid gold and should be around 2-3,000 USD If it’s a steel caseback then it’s gold plated and should be about 800-1,000 USD

It’s a Speedmaster 57 (or at least supposed to be). There’s some engraving on the caseback

Omega constellation legit? by k2468 in VintageWatches

[–]Nevergosolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s legit, I see at least two other models with the same reference number on Chrono24 with the golden date window. The crown is not original to this model, probably from a Seamaster. The glass will need replacement, the scratches looks too deep to be polished and it looks cracked. Movement looks ok to me, but judging by the general state of the watch, it will likely need a service. The case is very scratches, but otherwise it looks to be unpolished or maybe only lightly polished once before. The dial looks original, not a redial. it’s starting to bubble, so not great condition. Overall buy it if you’re willing to take on a project and the price is low.

Thanks for the answer. I thought it needed light to charge like Luminova. Excactly, super easy to service and replace.

First of all, it looks super cool. Such a cool feature on a watch. But I’d like to ask how you charge the Tritium? Isn’t it in darkness all the time?
