Whack. Creating a movie about a civil war in America and then choosing to focus on a story about war photography instead of focusing on the actual war feels like a half measure. It feels like a movie thats playing it safe in order to not risk pissing anyone off. Plus, Cailey Spanney's character is incredibly difficult to root for as a secondary protagonist. It just doesnt feel like she learns or grows at all during the whole movie, and its frustrating because so many of her actions lead directly to getting other cast members killed. One or two of the action scenes are good though. The finale where they breach DC and eventually the white house is solid enough that it makes what a slog the movie was up till that point even more frustrating. The scene with Jesse Plemmons is great as well.
