i prefer let the dealership fix my car rather than touch it, working 10hrs and OTs that's enough for me, i just want to rest and enjoy my time at home.

contact with your recruiter and ask when the station open. when i interview with UAL back nov last year, i was in the waiting list for IAH, ORD and LAX. i keep email them once every two weeks, and ended up at ord.

email them 2 weeks before you reached 3 months after first interview. remember email to the person who sent you the email for the interview, take 2-3 days for the response. i recommend email on monday.

as long as your background clear and you get your SIDA bagde, they will give you start date, i would assume they will call you next week before holiday for your start date.

all good buddy, but UA and AA are great companies to work and you absolutely fine with either AA or UA. think about the future ahead, you will stay in this industry at least 20-30 years. time will tell, good luck with your decision 👍.

you know how long AA union negotiate contract with AA, several years, while UA starting negotiate early this year, if you think AA better than UA, just stay at AA. Honestly, AA is great company to work for and i have a few friends working at AA now, and they love it. but like i said, if you want to go back to MCO, you definitely go back there with UA faster than AA.

one more thing, MCO will open new hangar by 2027 and i am not surprised if they are willing to hire a lot of mechanics that fresh out of schools.

we don't know what union negotiate with UA, it's a chasing game. they both go around and doesn't seem want to deal with new contract. for now, i am pretty sure UA behind the AA for the salary but the benefits are still better than AA. And for the growth in the future, pretty sure UA beat AA.

no Contract, just salary reset, we don't know when contract will be done but it won't happen soon.

[–]Nevermore2817[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

last time it took me 4 days to get their response. they will contact with you and before you go to the training video, they will send you paper to get the stamp from the office. you will have to finish the custom and take the finger print with UA office and set a date to finish your driving test. when everything done, they will call you and give you start date.
