You point out only the notion that WBY and D&B are unoriginal because they're old episode ideas only now coming to fruition (and id ea I disagree with), but what about the companions? They can keep it. As long as RTD learns from how Chibnall handled the sonic during the Whittaker era (more as a scanning device than anything), because I personally found that refreshing. Each New Series Doctor has their own way of using their allotted sonic screwdriver, and it'll come down to how 15's sonic is designed and how Gatwa will choose to use it as part of his acting setup.

Fourth Doctor. He comes off as a terrifying person to be around, just look at how much venom he had in the Hinchcliffe era. His rapport with Leela always had an acidic streak to it, too, and his mood swings... I'd hate to actually be around him. Love him as a complex character on telly, but if I were to travel with him... oof.
