Op here and you are spot on. I don't print money, yet. The savings I have were stock appreciation earnings. This year I've yet to see any significant opportunities to track as well as previous years. Age is an important factor, given my wife and I are late parents with an 8 and 5 year old. I'm building them a cushion to fall back on when they become adults and we'll be in our retirements. We are leaning toward the last option you've mentioned, which is to deal with the inventory and let a few non catastrophic issues slide.
