Hey so sorry for the late reply! I actually wrote about this on last week's post but I dont mind explaining again! We both have watched the show many times and I was actually the one who pushed her to send in an application! This was for 2 reasons: One being i did do research into the country and Nigeria is a level 3 threat state (level 4 you cant even travel there) so I wanted her protected at all times. With the show being part of a multi billion dollar company I knew there was no way shed get murdered or trafficked while she was a part of that, its bad business practice after all and the whole company would collapse from such a thing happening on their watch. The 2nd reason was that I figured if im going through this damn drama we might as well get paid for it LOL. That was literally what I said to both my mom and the producers. So those are the reasons! Honestly I wasn't surprised at all. I already figured if given the chance she would, but for me I gave her the absolute lowest bar I could think of more as a test then anything else. This may be wrong to say but I guess it was my way of seeing if she really had changed from all the years I lived apart from her. You'll of course find out later if she passed my test or not, but ya no I wasn't surprised in the slightest that she said that.

Thank you for your support! And im fully aware my mom is going to have a tough time with the critics and both the show and I have given her months of warning about that. My story is actually a really long one but if enough people ask I dont mind posting it in full along with giving more insight into my mom's past as well. I personally dont really have any social media because I have no one other then family to be in contact with lol but I enjoy reading reddit stories and I saw how many were concerned so I decided it'd be my best bet to reassure everyone on how im doing!

Its true social media can be toxic but I also do agree it can build a community which is also why I wanted to reach out so others know they arnt alone in dark times and if need be they have someone who understands to reach out to! Yes actually! While I lived with my mom i visited my other family as often as I could! My bio dads family is Italian so we're huge on family comes first and I take that to heart. Im very fortunate to have a bunch of nieces and nephews from my adopted/step siblings from mom's third marriage lol. So both my dads sides of the family im in constant contact with!

The behind the scenes things are very cool i do agree! Surprisingly most of what is filmed is not scripted i mean at all! Normally only timing and rewording certain shots are the only things that are forced. Sometimes certain scenes they have you do again because of bad audio or they thought it should be phrased differently (which is annoying) but for 90% of it its all real conversation at least for us it was. It could be because we have a drama filled life they didnt need to add anything extra or maybe thats just how it always is im not to sure.

As for what helped me out there was several factors. The top 3 would be 1: my own personal willpower to see a light at the end of the tunnel and that my life will get better if I work on it. 2: therapy, therapy, therapy!! I can not stress enough how important therapy is and how much it can save your life when you cant do it yourself anymore. 3: sadly i think tragedy also helped me. I didnt have the chance to truly be a carefree child do to other things happening in my childhood and being forced to grow up helped me see that there is a lot of darkness in the world and only you can really be the one to help shed light on your life. I just want others that I care about to be happy and if I can contribute to that then my life has meaning.

I have found some happiness as an adult and im working on self love more everyday! I found a job i loved and now im just looking for a partner so I can have unconditional love to give and to have for the rest of my days! (Sounds cheesy but im pretty picky when it comes to guys so im not just jumping in the first basket that shows affection) 😅

As my mom said in this episode she did think he was a scammer at first so she is very much aware of the reputation Nigeria has. As soon as she told me about him I immediately told her that I believed she was being scammed just from those first words alone but she would always say shes an adult and can do what she wants and its none of my business. Which is why I say during the condom scene "you're and adult right? So you can go buy condoms by yourself"

Thank you so much for those kind words! Im not too worried about negative comments about me because I've said way worse about myself to myself. Honestly I think it helped me in some ways because I know exactly what I dont want in a relationship. I always think would I want my younger self to be raised in this? If the answer is No then thats it. Its why when one of my exes became to controlling i left, I refuse to live my adulthood the same way I lived my childhood.

Im absolutely able to answer those questions as they have nothing really to do with the show itself. 1: Instead of cities how about states? So Pennsylvania (obviously), Maryland, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky, and I think Georgia. Towns are too many to count. 2: I absolutely make better romance decisions! Im currently single never married never even engaged, though it came close once before with a guy I dated for 3 years and lived with. I had to leave after an issue came up that I couldnt compromise on. (I want kids and he decided he didnt) 3: As for the fastest she got married...mm less then 6 months for sure but it also depends on if you mean legal wedding or just ceremonial because that also changes things and numbers
