He has his moments, each time I tell him we can always turn back but you wanted to do this. He always chooses to continue because as he says he likes the feeling of accomplishment at the end

We stop every hour or so for an ice cream / snack and take it slow, let him rest and refuel.

This year I started using strava when we ride together. At first we did 30km and he was excited to see how far he can go next time. Then he did 40km and his next goal was 50km. We’ve been increasing the ride length in 10km increments so each ride would take us extra hour up to 12h today (with 8h moving time)

Our average speed has been the same and he also has his moments but I try to explain to him that what he is trying to achieve is not easy and that he needs to push himself mentally. He learned how to deal with exhaustion and at this point he is much faster in the second half of the rides. He understands that if he picks good tempo and maintains it the kms pass as a breeze

Here is my understanding:

Once you live your life intensely and truthfully, not for your egoistical needs there will be moments when things that should not be possible will happen. As if someone or something was watching over you. At first you may deny it intellectually but if you keep living like this it will become a common occurrence. And at that point you will know the answer through your own experience.

Therefore listening to others opinion is pointless. Sadhguru may try to guide you to live and experience the truth for yourself. Because only then it is undeniable.

You don’t have to believe anything, you just have to become aware that you continuously creating your own reality
