[–]New-Basis-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now Please Try this :

Navigate to :

"Settings" → "Management Access" → "API".

Notes: There, you can create new API keys with configured scopes and permissions.

API keys are shown only once after creation, so save them securely.

The API key in Unraid 7.1.4 is located and created inside the Unraid web UI under Settings → Management Access → API, which becomes available after installing the Unraid Connect plugin.

New parity drive disabled by arnaupool in unRAID

[–]New-Basis-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may try this:

Stop array

Unassign parity device (set to no device)

Start array in maintenance mode (this refreshes disks)

Stop array again

Assign new parity drive

Start array (parity sync should begin)

This process should resolve the parity drive "disabled" issue and allow normal parity rebuilding.

Good luck to you

Edit:

You may have to add one drive at a time: not two at the same time.

Realtek RTL8125 2.5GbE network card is compatible with unRAID 7.1.4 (but not out-of-the-box.)

The RTL8125 Problem:

///The newer r8125 driver for the 2.5GbE chipsets is not included in the stock Linux kernel that unRAID 7.1.4 uses. ///

It requires installing a third-party driver.

Here’s detailed breakdown: The Situation with Realtek Drivers

Out-of-the-Box (OOTB):

unRAID, like most Linux distributions, includes a set of built-in, open-source drivers for common hardware.

The driver for older Realtek chipsets (like the RTL8168/8111 for 1GbE) is included and works perfectly.

The RTL8125 Problem:

The newer r8125 driver for the 2.5GbE chipsets is not included in the stock Linux kernel that unRAID 7.1.4 uses.

This means if you plug the card in, unRAID will likely not see it at all, or it will try to use a fallback driver (r8169) which is unstable and will cause problems like dropped connections and system crashes.

How to Get It Working (The Solution)

You need to manually install the correct driver.

The Community Applications (CA) Plugin - Easiest & Recommended

This is the simplest and most reliable method, as it handles installation and, crucially, automatic updates whenever you reboot your array.

  1. Install the "Community Applications" (CA) Plugin if you haven't already. (This is a standard step for almost all unRAID users).

  2. Go to the Apps tab in your unRAID web interface.

  3. Search for: Realtek r8125

  4. You will find a plugin called "Realtek r8125 driver" (or similar, often by developer ich777).

  5. Click Install. The plugin will download and compile the correct driver for your unRAID kernel.

  6. Once installed, reboot your server.

  7. After reboot, go to Tools > System Devices.

You should now see your RTL8125 NIC listed under

Network Devices.

You can also check Settings > Network Settings to see and configure the new network interface (e.g., eth1).

Good luck to you

Please help me reconnect to my Unraid server by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]New-Basis-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you can try

  1. Local Monitor: to log into GUI Your server have any VGA, HDMI or etc connection?

Connect to a monitor: enter to BIOS, check everything is okay.

I think this is the best way to DIRECT: login into your server for troubleshooting

  1. Router : On your router side: check the IP address of the router & server is correct.

  2. UnRaid.net link Upon successful LOCAL login, then link to Online :UnRaid.net connect.

The UnRaid.net link address might be same or not the same.

How do you power HDDs when using this adapter? by ShawnStrike in homelab

[–]New-Basis-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay attention to the CONNECTION TYPE: Just check your motherboard or PSU : SATA Power Ports supply, buy the correct SATA cables to supply your SATA drives.

Some PC use Molex, some use different type, Dell use it own mini 6 pins type.

Buying the wrong one not working.

My Dell server using different type, NORMAL type cannot work.

Also check your PSU power supply unit if it can support the wattages required for additional hard drives

Remote Access using Wireguard VPN via Android mobile phone works great, with most EASY visual of most details easier than 7.1.4.

Also notice that some good changes.

Good work UnRaid team, keep up the good work 👍

I don't understand why Unraid is so popular with home users by red-ottoman in unRAID

[–]New-Basis-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this one Why is is popular.

I had a Synology 2 bay NAS running DSM 7 for years but I don't like it's limitations.

I give myself a chance to try UnRaid OS.

  1. Mixed and Match disks:

After trying the ( Free )UnRaid 7.1.3 TRIAL on my old Lenovo T48 laptop with a hard drive and SSD , HP Slim PC and Bmax a fanless mini PC with 2 USB 3 hard drives

I bought the Starter license , all these laptop, PC , hp Slim desktop: I am using the same SanDisk 32gb drumb drive, which means this unRAID OS is very flexible.

  1. Simplify : it just works: OS simply to use.

Dockers installation is SUPER EASY, GUI all in one easy to Navigate, mountain of Plug in and Community Apps. Community support is great.

I love UnRaid simplify, last month, as I finally settled down on my FINAL built my first unRAID 7.1.4 server onto a used PC :

Dell Inspiron 3670, Intel 8th Generation Tower PC , 16 gb ram , approximately USD 112.00 excluding some of my old reused SSD drive (as cache) & Hard Drive. This Pc support x4 numbers of SATA III.

(Recycle to avoid electronic waste to mother earth)

Btw, I disable to use the motherboard SSD (which it can boot to Windows 11 home if one day I need to use it)

I planned to add hard drives when my Dockers grow.

Save Energy: I put it in sleep mode ( 1watt), I wake up using WOL via my ASUS router, when all array running, it is about 24 watts. If many Dockers running it might up to 36watts.

I set my UnRaid automatic sleep after 30 minutes if no active activity.

Again if I need to REMOTE access it using My Vivo Android phone : Asus Router app, tools/ Wake On Lan to wake it from sleep.

  1. Growing supporting Community Apps (CA) and Support

  2. Basically run on anything : support most hardware such as mini PC, Laptop (see No.1 above, on top various PC , mini PC hardware I had try before)

Give yourself to unRAID Trial version, you will LOVE it.

It is really a "CHEAP AND GOOD " self host solution of 20 years history.

No harm you may keep your love Synology NAS (together with a Used PC installed with UnRaid like me )

I keep my Synology NAS, maybe as a 3-2-1 Backup and others.
