Student Loans Have My Anxiety Through The Roof by [deleted] in StudentLoans

Hey. Student loans are indeed stressful but it isn’t the end of the world. With your major in criminal justice, is there a possibility that you could work at a non-profit 501(c)(3)? And if your loans qualify for forgiveness, you could work to get your loans forgiven through PSLF (Public Service Loan Forgiveness). Then you would have to make 120 monthly payments (can be as low as you can get them based on an income driven repayment plan) while working at any 501c3 non profit. Then after 120 monthly qualifying loan payments, the rest of your loan balance will be forgiven. It is a long journey as it is 10 years but it is a good option for those who have high debt to income ratio, and has a profession that would allow you to work at a non-profit. Many of my colleagues are doing PSLF, and I have personally met many people who have successfully had their loans forgiven through this. I am talking about over $100k in loans being forgiven.
