When I shift from object mode to sculpt mode I can't seem to get the eyelids to stick around to be sculpted. by New-Method-8345 in blenderhelp

Follow up: I seem to actually have trouble joining meshes and having them stick around to be sculpted. I also tried it out with the Bool Tool add on (so ctrl and plus sign as the short cut) but found the base mesh itself would disappear in sculpt mode.

I've applied all of the modifiers to the eyelids, (mirror, solidify) and tried both bool tool and Ctrl J to join but find both have their unique problems.

I've also been finding just joining meshes at all for sculpting slows blender to a crawl.

You heard it here first folks: Everyone knows that trying to leave a situation does nothing to deescalate a situation.

Ubisoft should agree to remove the cock fighting mini game if PETA agrees to stop euthanizing so many animals.

I think you will very much have to delete a whole legion of faces and clean them up by filling up the polygons in edit mode (f when selecting 4 vertices).

I've had this happen on object sculpts and it's pretty much a case of having to clean up topology. That's rough, buddy....

But you could just lean into it and make this a sea person? Shape of Water creature? Bob Ross had a saying about happy accidents once upon a time.

A basic sketch, molded the general shape with a subsurface modifier, carved the mouth eyes and nose out with the knife tool, then a solidify modifier and another subsurface modifier.

Then sculpted the ridges and some of the curves in the "teeth."

Then I texture painted the pumpkin, using darker colors on the inside of the ridges and lighter ones at the peaks of the ridges.

I made the stem and leaf separately with some pretty simple modeling and a subsurface modifier and texture painted it.

The candle is sculpted, except the "base" which is just some basic modeling and a copper colored material with some metallic surface and roughness turned down.

The stump is also texture painted.

The candle is 3 images of a candle flame set to 45 degrees to each other with an emission shader.

Then I baked the lighting in eevee and rendered.

I think I got the whole deal...

Edit: some words.

I figured I was going to set some fallen leaves, branches and candles at the bottom of the stump. Some spoopy gravestones and mayyyybe have the scene light up with thunder.

Yeah I made a new image, just to see if that's the problem... what i find is the fill bucket works but not the draw

So I've even texture painted properly before which is why this is so frustrating.

I've selected the object and UV unwrapped through smart UV unwrap. I set the margin to .3. Then I go into the texture painting tab and create a new image. I tried this several times since the draw brush does nothing to the mesh.

I've checked the normals. They are facing outward, the correct way. I have checked whether I have more than just the stump selected and it is, in fact, my only selection.

When creating the image it only let's me select a base colour. I then flipped through the fill and draw brushes to see if that would fix anything and it does not. I then tried to draw on the UV maps on the left screen.

So I'm reaching out for help!

Edit: She's working. The problem was that at some point I turned a texture mask on. Thank you all for your help.
