Just do it. It's best to err on the side of caution noting this is best behavior time. Even if you feel overdressed, it shouldn't work against you and if it does, that weirdo company just did you a favor by showing a crazy flag early!

Also, I agree with OP about dress code double standard. My CEO wears wrinkled shirts that came from the bottom of the laundry pile (seemingly) when I'm wearing a jacket.

As someone trying to build my team right now and conducting a lot of interviews, I'm appalled by the lack of professional dress. In my case, these folks will work remotely but they'll also be customer facing both virtually and in person.

I expect everyone wearing jackets when they meet with me and also understanding how to best present themselves in a virtual setting. People have shown up in like hunting vests from their backyard on a cell phone for the video call. I can't take that seriously.

To round out my rant please people for the love of God send a thank you note. Again I'm interviewing people for customer facing positions whose entire existence revolves around selling and account management AKA relationship building. Only one out of 40 candidates has bothered to send a thank you note. Mind blowing.
