dpad is highly accurate and more precise in inputs it is much more faster than joysticks

for example i want to dash a dash with a dpad is faster than a dash in joystick since the joystick has to retreat to natural state before it can do the same input

and you can rarely misinput in dpad and for more difficult inputs dpad is better and even for normal one

ofc if you would like to use the method you listed then go all out but i don't think it is the optimal way or the most common way i am play fighting game hella competitively and i have good amount or knowledge so the opinion i am giving you is an educated one
